Lower Radiator Hose Spring

Does anyone have a good line on where to buy lower radiator hose springs?

Also, I understand what they do, but has anyone noticed their lower hoses actually collapsing? I am wondering if the new hoses are maybe stiffer than the old ones? I know some have the thread intertwined in the hose for what I assume is extra support?

Cheap insurance for something like a collapsing lower radiator hose. Difficult to trouble shoot. I don't know if I've ever had one collapse because I always use the spring.
You can rule out that factor immediately if you ever have a heat issue.

I haven't seen a new radiator lower hose or used a spring in a lower hose in decades. If the hose is so soft or kinked that it collapses, it needs to be replaced.

They still use them, for the same reasons. Pull a lower hose off a newer Ram

There is no spring in the lower hose on my 2020 Ram 5.7.

Fair enough. I've done plenty of rads / hoses / pumps on the 09 up rams and that's the case. Maybe a can - am thing.

Unfortunately, hoses ain't what they used to be...
It was a video of a dyno session on YT that got me thinking that the spring is more important than I believed
at the time (much like your sentiments), so I set about making one work out of a spare hose for some other
vehicle I had hanging in the garage.

(In that video, of a hemi on the dyno, I noticed the lower hose collapsing every time they spooled that rascal up).

Heck, I think I even attempted to make one at the time....yeah - nope, it really needs to be stainless.
So much for that ingenuity.
