What type of jack do you guys carry in the trunk?

Fits perfectly in my 69 Charger.

I have not carried a jack nor a spare tire in any vehicle I have owned and drive in 5+ decades and nearly 3 million miles.
I have no regrets.
Weight wise, I figured I have saved hundreds of gallons of gas.
I think you should play the lottery then!

In all honesty, I have a smaller floor jack in a case that'd I'd use. All the bumper jack stuff is still there but luckily never had to use any. I only use AAA in event either my truck or the car breaks down and need tow home.

But if your out of cell phone range?
A raised hood, a thumb, and a smile usually does the trick I suspect, but I haven't had the need yet.
Although one time with a big truck non tire breakdown, on Alligator Alley I had to stand on the front tire after opening the hood to get cell coverage at 1am.

My factory jack that came with the car works great. Like a jeep off road bumper jack in the dirt would.

P.S. Car came with these Plymouth wheel covers in the trunk for some reason.

I bought a Craftsmen mini floor jack years ago that came in a hard plastic case, like the drill cases with the handle, molded sections for the jack and rod.

Very compact, been in my trunk for years, sits between the bumper jack and rear quarter.

Two of my cars have original, fifty-five-year-old spare tires and bumper jacks that I would never use. No spare tires or jacks in three others.

I took a scissor jack I bought off Amazon in one of my cars when I traveled 6000 miles back and forth across the country. No spare tire. The jack was brought in case I needed under the car to do a repair. Didn't need it.

If you have decent tires on your car, the chances of getting a flat tire are pretty slim.

AAA for anything you need.

I stopped paying for AAA when I got my car dolly.

I now have two vehicles that can pull it (and each other if absolutely necessary).

Worst case scenario- I call my wife, she comes and gets me, then we return with the truck and dolly.

I drive my old cars like they are cars.

...and I work on them like they are cars.

I know my Dad always carried a small floor jack which was very useful. For my 66 Dodge all I have is the bumper jack but then I won't be changing the tire because the spare is the original from 1966 in the trunk!
Oh, I also have roadside assistance!

Aluminum floor jack and a a pair of small jack stands. Then again I also carry a full set of tools and plenty of spare parts. Saved my bacon a couple of times on the trip to Carlisle.

Factory bumper jacks are almost guaranteed to twist your bumper, if used. The a$$ end of '66-'67 B-bodies have to raised quite high to get the rear tires out of the restrictive wheel wells. I have a factory jack in the trunk of my '67 R/T, but I would never use it. I carry a CAA card, and have used it a couple of times for tilt-and-load rides after minor break-downs.

My Charger was missing the bumper jack and spare when I got it. I replaced the spare tire but when my daughter's Jeep Grand Cherokee got wrecked, I pilfered the never used scissor jack from it. It has been in the trunk of the Charger for nine years and still unused except for a test to verify it would do the job. Thankfully, flat tires are not as prevalent as they used to be. I have heard that a lot of new cars don't come with a spare or jack. My newest car is a 2005 300 C so I still have both but neither have been out of the trunk......Ever.

On 66/67 cars rear, I put a low profile jack on the "frame" section just in front of the leaf spring hanger.

This lifts the car from a good, solid fulcrum point, while allowing the spring to hang loose, and the wheel to come down out of the well..

If there’s no spare tire and the one on the car is trashed, what’s AAA going to do other than have to haul the car?
