The wife had me change out the TV in the den today. I tried to pull a fast one but it didn’t fly. View attachment 1921405

Looks like a great table - useful too. May I humbly suggest you round the corners of the table? You'll be glad you did - ask me how I know!!! Ouch!Been wanting to do this for awhile. I built me a 30"x48" table that I can roll around wherever I need to. 5/16" plate on top with 2" GRC for legs, 1-1/4" for the bottom supports and some 2x2 angle underneath to stiffen it up (heh heh).
Now just need to dig up a piece of plate or plywood to make the bottom shelf...we had materials laying around so I really didn't want to spend any money on it (well, I did buy the casters $100 for the set with brakes on the swivels..)

Oh man, that sucks. Of course these things happen unexpectedly, so it is hard to plan for dealing with it. I hope things go well for them and that they are able to recover at least a few personal mementos.Right around 5pm I got a call from a good friend who was freaking out because their house was on fire. We hurried over, not knowing what to expect. Sure as ****, it was going up in flames. Not much to do other than try to keep them calm and provide moral support. The garage was about the only thing that survived unscathed. The gas grill on the back deck erupted in a huge fireball which entered the house through an open kitchen window. The upper level and most of the main floor were completely gutted.
We stuck around until it was over and a contractor got everything boarded up, then ran home to gather some clothes and necessities to help them get through the next couple of days. They got out with the clothes on their backs, and that’s about it. They are staying at a hotel near their house so they are readily available for the insurance adjuster and clean up crew. The fire chief said the house and contents are a total loss due to the fire, smoke and water damage.
