In the process of restoring a 67 R/T, and there's no better forum than this one to gain more knowledge and experience to guide me thru what has proven to be an expensive but rewarding endeavor.

I'm prepping the body for paint this spring, and while dry fitting my exterior trim, came across a few pcs I would like to replace or have restored.
- Hood lip molding. What I have will never be as clean as the surrounds I purchased, so I would like to either replace, or try and polish what I have. How are the OER replacements I see listed in various places? How about the 8 OER mounting clips?
- Sail Panel trim. Mine are pitted, and saw there are stainless replacements avail. How's the fit and appearance.
- Quarter panel R/T emblems. I purchased OER for 68 and up, and as I have read and seen, they do not fit the panel correctly. Anyone have any luck bending without damage?

Thanks for comments and feedback in advance

As little chrome and stainless that the 67 R/T seems to have it's very expensive. The grill surrounds and tailpannel being the most expensive. Wheel well trim and rocker molding are also expensive. The quarter panel emblems, only 67's will fit correctly. What I have invested in trim for my R/T, I could have bought 3 of these cars new in 67.

Sail panel trim, PG Classics as good as it gets.
OER hood lip trim and clips are good reproductions. Ofcourse a restored and polished original will look a little better, but worth the price??
Quarter panel emblems find 67's, the only thing that will fit correctly.
Any other questions let me know.

If you are are interested, I would need to check if I have 1 or 2 lip moldings. They were restored years ago bu Alltrim. If I have 2 I would let one go. I don't know what the repo ones go for so would need to ponder a price.

Where in Massachusetts are you?

Thanks Jerry. On the grille surrounds. Trust me...at $3200 put a good dent in the wallet.
Still looking for a really nice trunk finish panel, but once I paint my existing along with the tail lights and R/T emblem should look great at 10 ft.
I realize the R/T emblems don't sit flush. How easy are they to manipulate to fit better?
Encouraging to hear the sail panel molding fits well. How about stainless...not much more money?

65copcar - I would be interested in an OEM lip molding for sure. I have one with no dents...just needs major polishing which I'll attempt when repolishing all the stainless.

Gulp on the surrounds. I have a spare restored set. I know someone in massachusetts that is hoarding a bunch of this stuff, I think mostly NOS.

Send me a PM. Might be interested in a partial swap, as the the race car does not need a restored molding.

I haven't seen the sail panel trim in stainless, so I don't know how much more.
Is your tailpannel restoreable? The chrome on the panel has to be stripped and every pit has to be drilled out. Then they silver solder them all, sand smooth, and rechrome it. Then ofcourse paint it. Special T Bill did mine to the tune of $3550 plus another tailpannel I had. His estimate was less than half of that so I got suckered in. It is a thing of beauty, but I paid for it.
