Went out for the first week of deer season. My buddy's son missed a big buck opening morning. He's 35 and has never missed a shot. One of life's lessons. On day 4 I had success! Of course it was chantrelles again. Ya takes what ya gets.

Finished up the rebuilding of a all there, 1969-73, Disc Brake system for the cars over on the "C" bodies site, and for earlier cars, i have been told.

Took our 4 year old grandson to the train station to watch trains come through.Two commuter trains came in and watched two high speed Acela trains blow through the station at speed, one in each direction.

Spent some time trying to fix the thermostat in my house. It controls a simple wall heater but seemed lazy last winter, like I could hear it trip but the heater wouldn’t turn on right away. Now it seems completely dead, but if I jump the contacts the heater comes on right away.
I think the problem is the contacts in the glass cylinder, I thought it was a mercury switch but it actually has solid bits in it. I cleaned everything else with Deoxit, removed it from the wall to clean and check the circuit board. No luck, guess it’s time for a new one. I don’t think it’s original to the house because I can see paint ridges that indicate it once had a different shape model in its place at one time, but even then it’s pretty old. It came with the house when I moved in 25 years ago.
