After a;most seven years in machine shop jail my 478 Hemi engine is finally done and I am going to put it in a car. Not the intended car,but the surrogate! When I bought this engine as a Mopar Performance 472 Hemi crate engine,I had intended to put it in my 70 Charger R/T SE I have had since 1981. Then I bought a Daytona Charger Stock Car,and decided to put it in there after finding another Hemi engine. After deciding the Daytona Stock Car wasn't going to be practical on the street,I went back to plan A and decided to put it in my 70 Charger from 1981. Well after years of dealing with the scamdemic, trying to get the engine done,I never got around to getting the car ready for the engine. As everyone on here knows,Mopar Performance crate engines had issues, this was my reasoning for having the engine gone through as well as upgrading the horsepower from 525 to the current 631.5 it makes now. The 70 Charger needs a good amount of work to be prepared to handle this engine, frame connectors, body and paint work etc. So I decided to put it in the surrogate until the other car is ready! I have a painted 71 Dodge Charger roller in Citron Yellow with frame connectors and the springs already moved inboard. The current plan is to put the Hemi in this car, scavenge the necessary pieces from two other projects and have a running Hemi Charger by spring! This will give me time to get the other car ready,as well as getting the 71 Charger roller roadworthy ready for it's driveline. The plan is a weekend engine/trans swap once the other car is ready! I don't want a fresh Hemi engine sitting for a year or so while I get the 70 Charger ready. I'm going to say something unheard of in the Mopar world......my gen 2 Hemi came in under budget!

any up for sale?
