Gents,

Can someone please help me to identify this distributor that came on my 440?

I'm trying to reduce the total timing, but I've never worked on one of these before.
I've always just welded/filed the slots on the older versions.

For anyone that knows these dizzys, am I able to adjust the total timing by loosening the screws and closing the weight slot holes?

Thank you in advance

That's a mallory style advance.

Loosen the two black screws and close up the window the tabs are located in.

You don't need the keys if you have a drill index. Use drill shanks to set mechanical advance level. The widths of the keys are posted on FABO and maybe here as well. I may have posted them. Just a little hillbilly engineering to save you some $'s buying those keys.

From the distance, is a Mopar Performance Mallory made unit. Althought Firecore uses the same, but with a more serviceable shaft bushing assembly. Only visible with shaft removed.

This is extremely helpful. Thank you SO much.

Update: I filed down an 11/64ths drill bit (0.170*) and it all went back together. Fired right up.

You are awesome, dude!
