DC manual shows 322 for mph 284 for E.T. I think it should be quicker with that gear.Something doesn't seem quite right,I'd think it should be in the 12's for sure.

MOPAR GUYS ARE GREAT....I BELIEVE THERE IS WAY TO MUCH TIRE..33X17.5....AFTER I GO THRU LITES THE CAR HAS THIS SCARRY WOBBLE;ALSTON BACK HALF 4 LINK KONI COILS AND GENERIC SHOCKS UP FRONT...TO BE FRANK...I ALL MOST LOST IT........3 TIMES..DOES ANYONE HAVE AN IDEA TO WHATS WRONG.....RON :icon_santa:
 
What's your tire pressure.Those are really big.
 
I come up with 316 HP and with that time and mph about 5000 rpm through the lights.You definatly need a shorter tire.Not sure on your engine but with that gear i personally like to go through the lights at around 6000 to 6500 rpms.Tell us a little more info on the engine.

Cam....eldebrock torker ..single plane..solid lifter bored .30over....demon 825pumper msd....headman hders....elec.water pump elec. Fans...moroso evac.heads are of 1967 vintage........727 torkflt...hughes 3000 stall..dana 60....4.56 gear......nothing has been done to rotating mass....oem distributor..set to full advance...i don`t know comp. Ratio...........440cubes

I agree with wannadrag,you need to match that tire with your gear and desired finish R.P.M.. I,m wondering if that wide of tire is growing too much then giving you trouble when unpowered and decelerating.Does your head and shoulders move side to side when you let off,that might give you the answer.
 
That combo with factory short block specs,( IE. pistons probably in the hole
025, factory balance job ) with that cam and head, intake combo should pump out 390-410 hp. if all is in decent working order. Saying that I would say that you should be a 12.30-12.60 car. The 3000 converter and the
4.56's are a good choice as well, but those steam roller M/T's are killing the gear ratio. If you must leave them on go to 5.13's. The bouncing around at the deceleration is more than likely bad coil overs or the wrong (to light) spring on the coil overs. I would change gears, run through the valves, check total timing and play with carb jetting until combo starts coming around.

First off your engine is not making any power vs. what's been done but 104 should be good for a high 12 I believe, so the car is not leaving either. As far as the wobble goes I have no experience with 4 links so I'll let the guru's with the front wheels in the air answer that one!

As far as the engine goes do a cranking compression test. This will give some indication if the cam and compression ratio are matched. Also check the obvious, such as: Is the carb opening all the way? Timing set correctly? My initial thought is you have too much cam, too much carb and not enough compression. I'll give you an example of my recent 440 build. 77 block with 10.1:1 CR. MoPar .455" / 272 deg cam. 915 heads with 2.14/1.81 valves. Stock configuration M1 intake with 750 AFB. 2" Hooker headers with 3" TTI system and flowmasters. TCI 2400 stall. This is in a full bodied 66 Belvedere (est 3700 lbs including driver) with 3.55's and real street tires. Best time 13.38 @ 109 MPH.

It's also possible your converter is too loose and/or inefficient, which will hurt performance as well. Does the car feel like it's pulling the entire 1/4 mile? Or does it go flat?
