I was watching a Hot Rod TV show they did on "Killer Paint" owned by Mike Levee (sp). Most of you im sure have heard of him and his magnificent art work with a air brush gun. He mentioned in the show when he was doing a job on a truck that most guys name there car, and i was wondering if you guys do, im guilty of it i guess, sometimes in the last 7 years getting frustrated id say that thing reminds me of Christine's attitude, so we started to refer to it as Christina. After Mike Levee mentioning that i was wondering just how true it is?

I name all my car's as well Ron.

Had one Dart named Frank another named Skunk, a roadrunner named Betty, a Charger named Tiptoe. My 69' Roadrunner is "Skeletor" and the Coronet is "The Yellow Gas Vacuum".

my kids give me a hard time about that, i never name any of my pets (expect the dogs) i mean it's not like i can call my turtle's name and it going to come to me, but i have been known to name a car or two...
1964 max wedge is named "max" (of course)
1963 "440" named "penny" (becuase thats all i spend on it)
1970 camaro named "goner" (when it's done it's a goner)

my family named our turtle and when we say its name it looks for us and finds us! but im still trying to think of a name for my coronet

1979 Dodge D300 Adventurer SE Club Cab 4 speed granny low, 4.10 gears....named it Edna after the song. It was whipped and beat before I got her in 87 and drove it another 10 years.

2000 Durango....named Dwain because that's what it does to the gas tank

97 2500 Cummins powered....Red because that's what it is.

66 Belvedere....Blue Bitch....now Primer Bitch :D

i've been calling mine "black hearted bitch" lately. Or assorted profanity strung together! I have car-induced Terret Syndrome

We have names for most of our cars too

68 charger - Betty
69 charger - # 4
69 A4 runner - silver bullet
66 coronet - Lois
68 Satellite wagon - the wagon
70 belvedere - The Dirtbird
64 Belvedere - Mr. B
70 runner - # 2
69 runner vert - "Queenie" as in garage queen

Well they arent mine but i like the unique names and reasons gave, mine started out as just havin a bad day and wife would ask why the look as i walked in, id simply say "ole Christine playing her games again" so i dubbed her Christina and usually add Christine's Great grand daughter, just a lot lot nicer, lol. thanks you guys, cool names. Yea, who would expect a turtle to come when called. lol...

We name ours too

The Coronet is Midori, I had a Midori margerita the night we got it and Sublime is the same color.

The 41 is Ruby, for thr Candy Apple red, wifes favorite movie is the Wizard of Oz

The Explorer is Honeydoo, it has one of those voice recorders in the visor

The Scamp was Scampy

The Reliant is Snowflake, cause its kinda a pansy #$%& car

The Monte Carlo doesn't have a real name, but I call it every name in the book when I have to work on it

I call my Viper Truck "Baby" 'cept on Saturday nite she is "Killer" lol

I had a 68 Formula S Barracuda that a buddy named the green slime (because it was green and he thought he had top eliminator that day with his blue car). Otherwise I was never into fancy names.

My white RR is the 68 RR or the white car.
The R4 69 RR is the orange car because it looks more orange then red.
The hemi Belvedere is the hemi car. Or I suppose I should call it "finally".
Green 66 Belvedere is the green car or rolling dyno or track car.
71 Ranchero is the Ranchero.
I now own my deceased buddy's 67 390 4 spd Ranchero so it is known as Mongo's Ranchero. His nick name was Mongo.
71 F250 is "the blue truck".
Durango is the Durango.
52 Ford F3 pick up is the Sanford and Son. Of course!
Dart GTS 340 convertible is the Dart or GTS.

Geez, looking at this list I'm starting to think I'm Noah's Ark. Two of everything!

My `68 Road Runner is the "JUNKYARD DOG" or "DOG" for short. When I started stripping the paint off of it I uncovered an vintage race car paint scheme and this was on the doors. How could I call it anything else? The other cars probably will get names after I start working on them.

Thats one of the coolest story's i ever heard.. license plate with that on it when done might someday bring out the story behind it, never know..

MY WIFE NAMED THIS ONE " ETHEL"
after her aunt who owned the same car, well not with a hemi in it.lol
it still sticks.

I name mine as well
'88 dakota is bouncer it needs new front shocks
'90 caravan is bula
'00 pontiac montana is myra lately it is stuff I can't type on here
'75 new yorker is the land yacht

Super Bee is Gwen...she had that name when I bought her so couldn't confuse her with a new one!

Coronet is the Green Monster- big, ugly and green

My wife calls the Dakota "Bad Penny". I'm not much on naming equipment (although I do talk to some occasionally), but I think that has a great dual meaning and decent ring to it.
