My car has a Weiand intake with a Holley 700 double pumper. Works great.
Edelbrock makes good stuff too.

A pair of shackles in the back, to clear some street slicks, was normal back in the day.
But keep in mind, if you do that, you're going to get challenged on the street ALOT !
You better bore and stroke that poly, or swap in a 440 before you shackle it.
Myself, I'm partial to a maxed out poly with tri-power or dual quads.
440's are a dime a dozen.
You can find a hood ornament, I've seen them for just about every motor. Or make a custom one...it's your car now, you can make it your own. Have fun with it.

Have you bought a 440 Lately??

Awesome first car!! Let me be the first to tell you, BUILD THE CAR THE WAY YOU WANT TO!! Don't be afraid to pull the numbers matching 318 poly to make room for a 440 or even a Hemi! If, that's what you want... (hint hint) I bought a 43k original mile 2 door Belvedere I. I plan to drop in a 440 this winter, and possibly a cage.

Give us some specifics on the intake and carb. Also, Year One will probably have the correct harnesses for your car.

Searched year one and they don't have any complete harnesses which is what we are looking for.

Carb is a holley 2300, 350 CFM 2 barell.

Manual choke of course. But keep in mind we haven't ordered these yet.

Still shopping for a manifold.

Any suggestions?

Haha hemi's are very very tempting, But I think I'm going to just max out this 318, And if THAT'S not enough power for me then maybe I'll think about a engine swap.

There is a 4V intake available for the poly 318. I'd get that and the Edelbrock 500 cfm

Patrick ; Actually there's a guy here trying to sell a '70, 440 for $600. Very tempting, but I'm out of work right now, so it'll have to wait. All I meant to say was that 440 conversions are a lot more common than some of the rarer motors.

Hmmmm if I had a extra 600 laying around that wasn't devoted to my car I'd buy it, Damn, only 600 bucks.

Yeah, he says it was running good when he pulled it, but who knows, after all it is a 40 year old motor, probably needs a rebuild. In fact I would definitely rebuild it, before going through the hassle of swapping it in. So add $$ for the rebuild, but I still think it would be a good deal, compared to buying a crate motor.

You'd probably be about three grand under what it would cost to buy a 440 crate engine if you do decide to do a complete rebuild.

By the way who are the two people that voted for zeppelin? haha.

Whats wrong with Zeppelin!Back in the early 8o's I wanted to sand blast the zeppelin logo in my rear window of my Demon.

Haha, Why didn't you?

Oh and thanks for voting!

I'll be doing some blasting with zeppelin, Just through my stereo instead!

Pillar ; I just put in my vote for Zeppelin. I saw them on their first U.S. tour at Boston Garden, and they set the standard for all the metal acts to follow.
Their sound was the equivalent of a Detroit heavy metal, 9 second , nitro hemi, blasting out of the chute. Like the cars of the '60's, there'll never be anything like that again.
All we can do is keep the memories alive. If Zep doesn't end up on your hood, it would still look good hanging from your mirror.

do what you wanna do. dont follow the herd, lead it.

Thanks for the advice my friend!

Wow, Their first US tour AND at boston garden? Very lucky! I will find someway to show my respect for zep, Maybe I'll get a zep decal hahahaha.

Nahh no decals are going on my car.

Hanging from the mirror wouldn't be a bad idea if I don't made it into a hood emblem though!

Such a shame the direction new "Rock" bands are going in these days.

Kool Kar! I had a 64 Sport Fury with the 318 Semi-Hemi. Had a factory 4 barrel with a AFB I think. Ran strong, chirped second gear with the TorqueFlite without really tryin. That's a cool engine to Hot Rod. Bore it, stroke it, port the heads, cam it, fry them tires! Check out this , you'll dig it! http://www.1962to1965mopar.ornocar.com/poly318.html

welcome
btw
what r u doin with the old ramcharger wheels?

Thanks! I don't know why I haven't been on here in a while, That site is very cool though, The more info the know about my motor and how to hot rod it, the better!

we looked at a B5 blue *I think* 64 fury that had a 383 4 on the floor *Custom tranny* with some performance headers and a weiand intake manifold, It sounded REAL good... but it needed all the wiring re-done, all the panels replaced, a complete new interior AND all the pans replaced. the only good part about the car was the sound, he said it wouldn't shift into first. Oh yeah, he wanted 7 grand for it! :rolling:
