Hi fellow b body guys , im looking to convert my 67 gtx over to power steering . Any help would be great. Is there a lot of drama involved?. Figured it would be a good time to do it while i have the motor out. Thanks _DSC0458.jpg

New steering box, power steering pump & mounting brackets (either mechanical or electric), hoses, and new belts, etc... if you go with a mechanical pump.

Also need pullies and there is a difference in the steering column.

^^ They got it... all should be straight forward with no fab needed, biggest pain is finding a used column (which is not that difficult, they are posted here and on ebay regularily). The Power Steering column has a shorter shaft than the Manual one.

Good to know...did not know the steering column needed to be changed also (forgot about the pulleys)...think maybe the pulley configuration will also depend on the engine.....hemi pulleys are different (at least on the 70's) and also A/C cars are also different......

Also need pullies and there is a difference in the steering column.

also your power steering box input shaft diameter is different from the manual. One is 1/2" the other a 5/8" if I recall. (maybe 5/8 and 3/4" point is, they are different) When you buy the PS column, make sure the shaft and coupler is in tact and on the shaft, you should be ok. The steering shaft itself is the the same diameter so your steering wheel should work ok.

Good luck keep us posted.

THANKS FOR THE INFO I HAD A FEELING THERE WAS GOING TO BE SOME DRAMA , YOU THINK SOMEONE WOULD HAVE COME UP WITH AN ADAPTOR COUPLING OR SOMETHING ... :sad10:"OH YA ITS ONLY NUTS AND BOLTS AND I LIKE IT , LIKE IT, YES I DO! .. I LIKE IT. "ROLLING STONES " SORTA:headbang:

Mancini Racing makes a coupler adapter, but it is for a Power steering shaft to Manual steering box.

I did the power to manual swap - I have a lot of the parts needed for this swap in a box - I may be willing to sell ;)

Do you have column or floor shift?
