69 Super Bee Long Time Coming

So how much you gonna charge me to make me some door panels for my bee? :D

Thanks Leo, would be happy to help you out. Is your vinyl still in good shape? Still need to get out there, think I've been saying that for close to 2 years now!

Very nice work, I really like how you did the door panels yourself

Thanks 1971, the reproductions are definitely quicker way to go but I'm not really in a rush and while I'm not a by the numbers or bust guy do think it's more interesting when you can refurbish the parts that are there. Grand total is under $100 and once really started cracking probably have 8 hours in it overall so saving quite a bit that I can put elsewhere into the project!

There lies the problem, i don't have anything, my door panels were not there at all. Yours came out absolutely awesome!

Are you going black or white on the interior? I can check with the guy in Eudora to see if he might have a set around.

Going with all black interior, not using the wood grain pieces, unless i find a set.

It's going to look sharp! I've got to get out there within the next week so will see what's available. Know he has 69 b-body but don't recall if it was Dodge or Plymouth style.
Moving it out of there into a good friend of mine's garage here in town very soon. Other place have had a hell of a time coordinating getting in when guy is around and the key I was promised has never materialized so time to make a change.

Local parts stores used to have the loaner ball joint sockets but no luck this time around. Ended up ordering a kit off Amazon, Powerbuilt brand that has both the 1 59/64" and the larger truck size 2-9/64".

They were already off the car so soaked in PB Blaster for a couple of days then gave them a go on the vice using a breaker bar and old jack handle. They came loose easy enough but would have been easier left on the car!

Gave them a wire brushing then back into The Dip for another go. Pulled the first one out last night, came out ready for primer!

Been a long time since I've updated this, finally got the Bee back home this past weekend with the help of my dad.

The guy with the shop and my schedule never did mesh so time to go.

Have a plan of attack laid out, will see how this goes.

-Replace cracked door hinge on the drivers door lower- that a problem anyone else has had?
-Finish assembling the front suspension, check all my torque specs.
-Finish replacement of headlight buckets.
-Cart the car back out for media blasting the firewall & under fender areas and wheels. Prime/paint.
-Finish up dash assembly & install.
-Install sound deadener & headliner.
-Have glass installed, finish interior install with exception of seats- figure out solution (factory vs. junkyard vs factory look custom)
-Find reputable paint/body guy to fix existing issues & paint hood, scoops, hood hinges.

Loads of other things to knock out but figure this will keep me busy for now.
