Hello everyone, I am starting my super bee restoration. I'm going to share my adventures with everyone here. I welcome information, insights and criticisms.
I have never posted like this anywhere so bear with me. I will start with the back story. I purchased this car last fall from a friend who's father used to own it. He passed away unexpectedly. They owned the car for about 5 years and worked on it a bit. They also collected lots of parts for it as it was in sad shape when they got it. I have the pics of when they got it and will post them on this thread. The car is a 383 4spd car. I have no build sheet or fender tag but vin is a real Bee. My friend told me the fender tag was rusted beyond readability and the build sheet was completely shredded. The car was a rodent motel so no surprise the build sheet didn't survive.
I do have the matching transmission and rear end but the 383 that came with it is a 71.

Here is the start of the disassembly. I will be taking more pics tomorrow as I finished gutting it today and started organizing the parts for storage. It needs a lot of metal work. I don't want to lose anything I took off.

I don't have a garage either. I have a tent. I did buy a really nice one. I got a Rock Solid Shelter brand. The ultra duty one . I live in NH so I wanted something that was going to be able to withstand the snow . This is my setup.

Welcome aboard brother. Lotta great people here and rescources

Those are great body styles and congrats on the purchase and best of luck on the rehab. Looks rusty but it can be done. Just work on one part at a time so you don't get overwhelmed. My 69 GTX was a rusty basket case. Roof, front frame rails, doors, floorboards, Dutchman panel, trunk gutters, trunk floor, extensions, outer wheelhouse, quarter panels, rockers....you get the picture. It's doable and will look awesome when done. I love that you already have the six pack hood.

Pro tip. Don't store the hood on the corners. Lay it on its side.

Nothing like dealing with a project that someone else took apart. My hats off to you. I had the "privilege" of putting a 67 Camaro back together that had been apart over 10 years, made several shop changes, owner lost/threw away many items, other shops stole parts and replaced them with parts that didn't belong to that car. Hope you have patience. If not, you'll acquire it.

Been sorting parts today. I have a small pile of unidentified pieces. I know the trunk latch and license light are not for my 68 super bee. Anyone know what they are and what model they fit? Thanks

Looks like a rear license lamp that goes in the bumper, a hood latch, a striker shim plate , a fuel tank strap , a rod that goes to the door latch, but I’m not sure what the black part on top is, looks familiar but I just can’t place it right now, maybe under the dash

Ya the part I thought was a latch rod does look to be a fuel tank ground strap,
Good eye
