Hey guys how's it going im finally getting ready to order my new rims and get those skinny ugly little pizza cutters off my car. Im looking at the black torq thrust m rims 17" but not sure on width and no little to nothing about back spacing. these are what im looking at I would like to be stagered if possible so the rear are larger ive seen some sets where the front are 7 or 8 inches wide and the rear are 9. Im just not sure what will fit on this car. thankyou for all your help and please no comments about how much you hate the new bigger rims im really not interested just looking for facts about sizing. https://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Whe...oModel=Road+Runner&autoYear=1973&autoModClar= .

Its best you figure it out yourself by doing the necessary measuring (not hard at all). First measure how much room you have in the tubs, subtract at least 3/4" per side for clearance and take into consideration how much rubber bulge you want on your sidewalls. Now hold a straight edge on the wheel mounting suface (wheel off) and measure how far in and out you have in the tubs, this will give you the backspacing or offset. My Charger for instance has a 14" wide tub, measuring from straight edge I have 7" both ways meaning zero offset. I bought 10" wide rims with zero offset (5" backspacing) and 11" wide tires with plenty of room.

that info is great and i will be measuring but i guess what i was looking for were other people who have 73's with 17's what they used and what their impressions of the their setup's are. thankyou

Gotcha, doing your homework before purchasing is a wise decisions. Google every make model and year that shares your platform and include protouring, restomod or anything else that would bring up larger wheels and hopefully you'll find that perfect look. Good Guys shows are also great for ideas too but hopefully somebody out there will reply. Good luck

If you want another wheel choice other then American racing try boss 338's there very similar and there staggered. they also come in black Here's a pic of them on my charger (18")
I don't remember the back spacing though I know it was close to 0 though .

The common size is 9.5" wide with 5" backspacing. The Boss 383s are nice wheels at a good price.

0 offset is a pretty safe bet. I'm pretty sure one could get away up to a 11" rim on our cars, 10 for sure.

I looked into the 338's and found a bunch of negative feedback on them as far as issues with peeling and imperfections. They do look really good though. I'm definitely leaning towards black rims.
