Anybody here own a 2011 Charger ? Thinking of buying one & wanted some unbiased opinions from owners that speak Mopar.
You guys will be irked, but I want the Pentastar V-6 for economy & the fact that I'd leave it alone. The HEMI would demand tuning & that is not what I want to do. Thoughts ?

Get a newer one with the better looking front end & tail lights.

The 3.6 is a bitchin' engine. You won't be disappointed!!!

An 11 would have the leftover mercedes 5 speed. Youll see less MPG that my wifes 2015 with a hemi and 8 speed does.
If you're seeking a MPG queen, You'll want a 2012+, when they went to the 8 speed on the 3.6's.

the 3.6 is a great engine, and the 8 speed in a marvelous unit. If this is a "buddies car" or something where you're limited to this specifc one..i guess it would be a question of how good of a deal it is. If your options are open...bump up a few years and enjoy you 33 MPG HWY

The NAG1 is a great trans, buts it's only a 5 speed, so I'd go for 13' and up, better mpg due to 8 speeds.

Go for a newer one with AWD, if u need such up in Idaho. Our 2014 is awesome and gets really good mpg. Nothing wrong with the 11 but still the 5 spd.

Talked to a guy at car show with one. He said stay away from the 2011 because the parts are kind of that year specific. I have a 09 with the 3.6 high output and I love it.

I found 2 I like. The 12 is a base model with 77 k miles for 13k. The 11 is loaded with 109k miles for 12k.
Where the big difference $ wise lies is trade. The 11 is 5k & my 09 Compass
The 12 is 8k difference. Or straight trade for an 06 RT with HEMI. Decisions, decisions.

Love my 345 Hemi 2013. Had a valve not spinning due to high idle hours as ex state police. Getting slowly better now that it is spinning.
It's turning 5 sec 0-60, and if I'm tryin' to save, pulls 30 mpg on flatland interstate.
5 gears is enough.
I like seeing the engine loping 1500 @ 55 on 4 cylinders and ya can't even tell it's switching to ECO but for the dash light.

But how is the HEMI on fuel in daily driving ? I do over half my driving in town. Remember, this car will be the daily driver. So in town mileage does enter into the equation, unfortunately.

I had a 2014 v6 I hated it . it was very slow it's a big heavy car. and the 8 speed is crap in my opp. you stomp it to pass and it takes forever for it to down shift to a passing gear it was not driver friendly it may be fine for reg people but I expect more out of my cars it wasn't up to par for me . I wish it was a stick and a hemi it needs both . I had it for 3-4 months I now drive an srt4 neon and I'm much happier I need a little more power but I'll just get it tuned .
The new ones might be better I'm told the trans is different so definitely try and be honest with yourself I said it was good enough and I was wrong I also added a cold air intake for a little more power .it still was lacking!

I was unaware what a P.O.S. I was driving, until the nice car dealer told me so. In my ignorant bliss, I was thinking I owned a lower mileage, paid for, economical rig. How kind of them to set me straight. Out of the kindness of their heart, the were willing to allow me $3700 for the Jeep. I less than politely declined. So "No Charger for me" as the Soup Nazi would say.

These new transmissions take forever to decide what gear they want to be in. I have a 3.6 in my 30th-anniversary Caravan. The engine is great, and the SOB flies....when it's in the correct gear. It's disconcerting to pass at times.

Update !!!!! Bought a 2013 AWD Charger. Got a fair trade in on the Jeep & fair price on the Charger. 37,000 mile car. I get 2 years lof free, they added 4 year, 48,000 warranty for 1/2 price, & reduced price equivalent to $ I put down. Very happy. Drives sweet. Hoping the AWD doesn't kill highway economy. We will see
