Wondering what your opinions are on rear suspension setup on a street strip car. I like the Super stock springs as well as caltrac setup with mono leafs for adjustable. Caltracs aren't a whole lot more when you factor in new front hangers and all for super stocks. I just don't have a clue on which way to go. I know super stocks are proven to work while caltracs seem to be picky on some cars.

How much power are you putting down? I like to stack my own springs and have clamped the front secments too. Clamping helps you to figure out how stiff of spring you need. Good shocks (I like 50/50) help along with solid or poly front spring eye bushings. Then you can start looking at the front end left etc. CT's ain't cheap and neither are SS springs plus the SS springs usually lift the butt way too much for my liking.....

Somewhere around 626hp/640tq. I removed the original 318 springs they were worn out. I would like to be consistent and get the front tires off the ground a little (which I realize has to do with the entire setup). I priced the Caltracs roughly 760 bucks without shocks and the superstocks were a bit cheaper. I don't mind the superstocks lifting the rear as I like that 70's rake to a point. But from what I gather online everyone says they ride like dump trucks.

The S/S front perches I have 2 holes for locating the springs up or down.

I have super stock springs on my car and it rides good it only lifts when you jump on it

S/S springs and front hangers at Mancini $350 $400. It depends on what year car and weight of car. You need the 2" extended hangers. Stock springs are 22" front mounting bolt to where the rear differential mounts S/S springs are 20".

Thanks Fran, That is where I was looking at them. And Caltracs straight from Calvert.com. Any idea if Caltracs are legal to use for nostalgic races? That is one requirement I would like to race in our local NDRA but don't see anything saying you can't run them.

I have no idea about your local nostalgia race rules, but Caltracs definitely aren't "stock". I've run SS spring for many years and I like them. I think that Caltracs are probably better for the dragstrip & if you want the front tires off the ground you'll need some slicks & hardened axles IMO. So, the question is..... will you drive it more or drag race it more? I'd pick my suspension based on that answer to that question. On a related note... I've looked at the Caltracs and the main concern I have about them is ground clearance over Chicago potholes
