727 push button and 3 speed floor shift ,YES,but was a( factory installed) 4 speed floor shift available and run on any NHRA tracks with any success? 1963,383 Fury golden commando was the only 4 speed floor shift I can remember,,but lets hear from those who have better memories of the days, not hear say!THANKS

I bought a brand new 1963 Aluminum Nose Max Wedge in 1963 when I was 21 years old. It was a Torqueflite. No 4 speeds were offered then, Only 3 speed manual floor shift.

383s were available in 63 with the cast iron Borg Warner T10. Not nearly strong enough behind a max wedge.

There use to be better race cut gears available for the T10. Even with the better gears 1st and 2nd would not hold without a load.

It is now clear,no 4 speed T10 behind 426 max wedge in 63 because it would not stand up to power until 64,when a better 4 speed was made.THANKS ALL, it says a lot for the 727 torqueflite.
