I believe the retainer collar can be chiseled hard around the OD while on an anvil in several spots to loosen it and may just slide off. As far as the bearing, if you don't have a separator you may need to cut the cage off, remove the rollers, and die grind the inner until it splits without cutting the axle. Don't cut it off with a torch.
I prefer the tapers but the greens have come a long way from what I hear.
OK a grinder worked well I put a relief cut then hammered it with a chisel finally came off. One bearing was toast and one was good but replacing both.
Cleaned up the housing and reinforced my k frame with firm feel brackets.
Rewelded all seams as well . can anyone let me know if the Mopar leafs should have clamps on each side or two on one side the leafs didn't have clamps I guess they fell off. I cleaned them up but unsure of clamp position they are from a 71 superbee 383
