Hi guys my ash tray light went out on my 68 RR . I put a 12 v battery on it and its dead. My question is I have it out but how does the socket come out of the case so I can replace the bulb? It was working till this summer Its minor but the novelty is great. Thanks

i changed mine last month,it pulls out from the bottom i used small pair of pliers and just pulled down and socket came out from the capsul,do not squeeze to hard.i like for things to be working as well.

I actually removed the blue plastic light diffuser in mine and solder installed a green 12v LED. No more problems.
