I know I'm old, but it seems $200 for vacuum hose and tees is the going rate? I'm missing a lot of the original stuff, so I thought I'd grab one of the kits out there. But after not seeing these for less, I thought I'd just buy the striped hose and figure it out, but that stuff is 2-3 bucks a foot. Is there another option besides plain jane vacuum hose? I'm working with a body shop, so that option probably has me doing the job for them.

The reproduction hoses are what they are....People have sealing issues with them.....

Best case is to find a nice used original set. The stripes will probably be gone but if you have a good pin striper they can reapply them. I would be Leary of individual hoses because the pressure may pop the hose off the back of the switch behind the cluster.

Ebay would be a good place to search or place a want ad here for a used set...The plastic tee you can buy from RT specialities...

Depends on if you want it all original looking? I didn't like how messy mine looked with hoses everywhere or the stupid cost of a new vacuum (headlight) switch so I changed it. I bought solenoid operated vacuum valves for a 4x4 Ford, mounted them under the fender along with the vacuum canister and wired them into the high and low beams with diodes. 1 hose from the manifold tucked out of sight feeds them then hoses connecting the valves to the headlight buckets and a few wires. The only thing remotely visible is just 1 hose, amount of hose needed is just enough to reach behind the headlight buckets. Not for everyone but cleans it up and saves money.

Come to think of it I may still have the original hoses? Let me know if your interested and I'll look.

There is basically two different manufactures of these kits. I am involved with the one manufacture and our kit is striped, cut to length and assembled in Pennsylvania. The other kit is manufactured over in Japan. The most noticeable difference is that the striping is very crisp and distinct as they are done with a laser print head. So just be knowledgeable on what you may be purchasing if you should decide to purchase one of the reproduction kits. If any questions, just drop me a message.
