Don selleck's 68 charger rt project

I had the painters paint guy match the original dash frame paint off a piece of trim that was above the windshield on the inside, was the same color as the dash. It was too shinny on first batch, then too black, then a little too gray on the third try decided to use it any way the sheen looked good, now its in I'm not so sure, what do ya all think ?

I like the look. The matte finish reduces glare. It will look shiny through the glass from the outside.
Nice job. The silver looks fantastic.

I was surprised to read this....My Dad was from Toledo, my Mom was from Monroe Michigan. I was born in Michigan in 65. They moved out here to CA in 1967.
Thanks for the trip in the "way-back" machine!
I'm about and hour northwest near ann arbor. Monroe hasn't changed much, go fishing down there to lake erie every once in while. one uncle left there. retired from GM.

I had wanted to go back with my Mom to have her show me around. She passed on before we could make it there. Pisser.

thanks! got a **** ton of work in it. color is 99 viper silver, car was originally aa1 buffed silver. trying to still keep it in the mopar family even if it isn't the original color.
WOW!

That color is sooo cool! It's looks like a jet, or a spacecraft, kinda like polished aluminum. Makes me wish I'd painted mine silver. Sweet brakes alsoo..

Nice paint Don! say do you have a lead on were to get some of those clips that hold the door belt molding on?

Monroe is a typical Michigan city that a lot of its residents were employed by the big three, well we all know what happened there so,it hasn't seen much growth in the past thirty years, the opiod epidemic has devasted a lot of the inhabitants including three relatives, dying at around 40, 45, and 25. It still has a lot of nice older buildings, well kept and pretty clean town compared to some in the same situation. General George custer on his horse at the Monroe street bridge over the raisen river still stands. (he was born there).

original, i have maybe two clips left from an extra piece that the last guy bought (the clips vary in size)

Thanks Don, yes they vary in size, I think ther are like 6 of them. If anyone knows were to get some of these clips please let me know

yes and one has a stud on it and a nut that tightens down at the back of the door by the door handle. you can have the few left over one's i have but it would be easier to find a whole set. let me know if you want need them also have an 11 inch rear brake set up all new hardware wheel cylinder, shoes, connected to backing plate, and drums, e brake cables. and 71 disc front set for cheap. youre close so shipping wouldn't be an issue, that's why i was reluctant to post them for sale. plus other odds and ends i won't be using.

No problem were all here to help, mine also had a clip with a stud on it for the back one, I believe RC stated in the thread about difference in production early and late in 68, the early ones did not have the stud and nut. I know of a guy in brighton that has a lot of parts he is on this site but can't remember his handle, I will text him and see if he has any, and have him get in touch with you
