1969 Dodge Charger SE Value? Found in Backyard.

You can easily tell if it is a 440 or 383. The 440 has a large machined stamping pad adjacent to the distributor. The 383 does not have this pad. That block casting number is the same as my '67 440.

I got the numbers off the engine 2536430-6 date 4/67 I looked up those numbers and it appears to be a 440? Is that correct? He told me he thought it was a 383 but now I think he is wrong?

To the left of the distributor is a flat machined area that is stamped and should read "C 383" (C for 67). Near the bottom of the same area if a high performance engine, stamped "HP". Below is an example but of a none HP.

Yep. Good luck. And just an fyi, that hole just above the stamped area is where the distributor goes.
