Having just put together a short video of the '69 Charger I once owned, I thought it would be good to see other member's cars from the day you found them, until what they look like now....or when you finished them.

Cars don't need to be complete - it could be a car under construction right now....but pictures are what will make this thread useful and inspirational to many out there. Obviously some of us have or had more than one car....post 'em up for all to enjoy.

Post away. I'll start by re-posting that video clip...

Having placed an advertisement in our local Saturday newspaper back in 1984, this was the only response I got...

After 3 years and a lot of weekends...plus cash, I ended up with this...

Behind this blue garage door....was a car that I had heard about, but wasn't able to buy until, some 15 years later...

This is the first time I actually saw the GTX that I recently sold...

(you should recognise the driveway from the video clip above)

Eventually, after just over 3 years, I transformed the GTX back into this....

1979 after we did full quarter panels (oem from Chrysler dealer) and paint after 10 years of abuse, neglect and Ottawa Valley salty roads!

1986 after Dad died from Kidney Cancer and Mom asked me to get it out of the garage so she could sell the house.

1988 on it's way to the paint shop once again. My son then 5 years old on his way to school.

EDIT.. I missed out of the paint shop in '88 Friday at 4pm and up all night with interior back in and at a car show the next morning! Wife (then 24 years old) rocking her Green shorts, baby in pen (the one I have to drive to the alter in the Bee this summer), 3 year old and 5 year old in the shade under the car and my Sister (RIP) with us as well. Man I miss that energy that I had and my kid Sister.

Current day at the beauty shop for a cut and buff after 3 years of me tearing it down and building it back up again.

2005 mine was a road hard & put away wet,
beaten' ol' girl, had all the org. great shape black decore interior
it had the org. hood, org wheels, crap bias ply tires
sorry no photos of when I first got her

it needed body work, had a crease in the drivers side
& it was in already primer & had rusty Road Wheels
but it was all there, good buy for $6000,
I talked the guy down from $7k
fixed the crease & drove it like that for a while

photo was back in 2011, my Buddy/Lord Budnicks was still alive

in 2007-ish I painted it temporarily 'ultra flat black'
it wore that paint for another 10 years until Nov. 2017
before I painted her back to it's org. LL1, surf turquoise metallic
as it is today

I like her more than ever now

This is the Roadrunner before and after.. I only did cosmetic stuff to the engine but pulled it later on and repainted the engine and made it look much better.

Batt. charge 5.12.08.jpg

Day of arrival in Dec 2008. Looks straight but had heaps of bog hiding everything. Just over 10 years ago now. WOW.

Don't be embarrassed...this is not about show quality cars at all....just post a picture of your ride as you found it....and another of where you are at today.

This thread is not a competition. :)

Thanks kiwi! I say embarrassed to the fact it’s taking me foreeeeever to get my hot rod done. Time is hard to come by it seems. My fault only, have too many irons in the fire!

Our '64 Belvedere in 2009 when we picked it up in Florida and again in 2010 after we made some changes. Then pics of the Satellite's carbs before and after rebuilding.

After initial clean up after being pulled from a field in VA January 2006.
She was rotten from the belt line down in the quarters, all floors too.

gtx blimpies 1-26-18.jpg

A dozen years, mucho dinero and four cancer attacks (me, not her) later, she's in a better place.
At this point, most every part of the car has had something done to it, some of it multiple times.
Work in progress...

Scored mine back in 2000..started working on it but it became a true 'back-burner' project as I got into the career and family stage of life. Finally got it back on the road in 2017, not in the fashion I envisioned it but after years of doubting it would ever run again I just wanted it operational..still a work in progress but I enjoy driving the crap out of it in the meantime!

Wish I had pics from when I first got it, these are from right before I went back to work on it(2016) but it sat in pretty much this condition through 15 years and two house moves..
