PS pump hose advice needed

I struck out finding this fitting at the first two places. I can have a hose made but its bulkier and not to my liking.
After I find the fitting I may simply order a reproduction hose and use the old until the new arrives

I don't think that fitting from Rick is the right size, but he could likely tell you send him a question.
I think the TRW uses 1/4" tube at the high pressure end.
Sorry, I don't have a car here or I would check.
The sad thing is I really should know, I have two of them...
RockAuto shows 3 days to get the hose to my house in NY.
It lists the steering gear end nut at 7/16"

I just went over and did some wheel swapping. The steering gear nut is 9/16" and is 1/4" tube on my 66 satellite.

If you have a 70 steering gear, I think you have the larger high pressure fitting on your gear. The hose you have must be from a 68 or older. For some reason, Mopar changed that fitting (I believe) in 69. Pre 69 cars had a 7/16" fitting that was changed to a 1/2" male. I just learned that myself a couple months ago. Check with RC. He is the guy I learned from about that fitting. He needed the smaller fitting that I sent him. He probably still has the larger one if that is what you need. Or you will need the smaller adaptor fitting from an older steering gear to make it work.

The fitting screws in. How tight? Finger+
I dont wish to damage the O-ring

Lube the o ring with power steering fluid so you do not jam and cut it. Just a smear.
Gently engage o ring and tighten a good nip is all that is needed. Go a bit slower when you feel the o ring engage the taper.
Use two spanners to tighten the flare nut working against each other if you know what I mean.
Do not screw the hell out of the fitting in the box.

That is not the normal bracket for the small TRW pump, but if it works ok. Small TRW is solid shaft. Large TRW has slot or hex hole. The Federal which is appropriate for a 70 has a 3/8" threaded shaft. TRW takes a flare fitting at pump end and the Federal is a different fitting, it is a tube with o-ring similar to some modern fuel lines.
At the steering gear, there were several different fitting used over the years. Some hose come with a fitting. So if you have the TRW small pump, you can order a B body type hose from 68 earlier, then see what the steering fitting is on the hose, and go with a matched fitting to put in the steering box.
