I hope the lesson is not going to be too expensive. So, I learned some stuff today.
Good Job. 1.32 60 is pretty sweet and most important, like you said, you still had traction with the weight loss. You bet I will kiwigtx!
After the first pass, I checked everything again and seemed fine.good news Bob
nice run for no tuning too, congrats
a lot more in it too
Bare with me, I know it may sound dumb, but;
check, make sure you cover all basis,
I'm maybe overly **** too
I want you to go fast as hell, have fun & be safe too
New combos can make you hyper sensitive to changes too
check stuff
a wheel (especially a rear) didn't throw a weight (balance) or something !!!
or a bad bearing (suspension wheel, front or rear end) or something
did you have the driveshaft out ever recently ?
universals bad
or something in the brakes ?
wheel or axle bearings
did you mess with the rear suspension at all ?
pinion angles
did you mess with the front suspension at all ?
alignment, toe in or out
or laying back the spindle caster/angles (will vibrate sometimes on deceleration)
or more so forward angle on the spindles not enough caster angle etc.
a bad heim joints etc.
Tire-shake ?, rolling over the tires/slicks wrinkles under power
or tire coming off the ground & it's distorting, bite & slip etc.
I'm not sure you're at that level of power yet
even with a solid seat, you can feel more of the car & track
but it doesn't seem like, a shake/severe vibration,
you shouldn't feel, unless something wrong
unless maybe/probably
I'm not getting the proper translation of what you mean/said ?
I've had solid suspension cars & alum seat F/C & a couple Altered's
& didn't feel any shake/severe vibrations, unless something was really wrong
or maybe I was just use to it, but I think I would have noticed thou...
not trying to scare you
just covering all aspects, want you to be safe
I hope I'm wrong
or just misunderstand what you're saying about shaking/vibrations
good luck
Like I said I'm a bit 'overly ****' at timesAfter the first pass, I checked everything again and seemed fine.
I did nothing mechanically to the car over the winter which is why I'm thinking the seat.
It wasn't rattling or shaking violently, just a bit more vibration than normal.
Nope, this is 3 years already that I have the Gerst setup in the car.Like I said I'm a bit 'overly ****' at times
you went to coil overs IIRC
wasn't that last season, you did all the Gerst chassis/suspension ?
lightening her up, while waiting for your engine builder to finish (?)
or anyway, the solid seat could be all it is
maybe it's just the harsh ride you're feeling ?, not use to it
better to be safe than sorry
good to hear, you are on-top of all of it
like, I assumed you would be too
good luck next time out
wow no kidding time fliesNope, this is 3 years already that I have the Gerst setup in the car.
Time flies!!!
Can you get a nylock nut on the back side tooSo I found what not to do to secure your lexan windshield.
After going to the track the other day I found some of the bottom screws loosened on my windshield.
I drilled the holes on the bottom a bit too large. Stupid mistake.
They were snug but the vibration loosened them up.
So, I decided to put some loctite on them .
A couple days later, went out to the garage and found this.
Lesson learned.
I bought another sheet of Lexan and made another windshield.
This time I offset the bottom holes and drilled them smaller.
I feel 100% better with this one.
