Just went to DMV site bill of sale on 20 year old cars. Wonder how foreign buy deals with that? Good luck to you.

I believe if we buy a car from the USA and bring to Canada. The car has to have a title .

I had to ship a bumper for a ‘62 Chrysler 300 to Sweden. Someone on the c-body site recommended Copperstate Classic Cars in Phoenix Az. The owner, Bo, took the roll of middle man. It was a leap of faith for me but Bo and his wife guided me. I UPS’ed the triple wrapped bumper to him and he worked with the buyer from Sweden (when Bo found out this bumper was for a lady, he cut his shipping cost/price in half). I got an email, almost 4 months later, that the bumper arrived and it was beautiful. Very happy lady in Sweden.
Bo is from Sweden and crates up cars/parts for the cross ocean trip. When the crates full it ships. I understand, at the time, he would prepare cars/parts for shipment to other countries too.
He has a website and maybe he can give you some insight, especially if you’re dealing with a buyer from the Sweden area. I have high respect for my brief connection with Bo at Copperstate Classics.
Good luck on your endeavor.

I don’t understand why you would need to create a special account for wire transfers. You can give out your bank account number without fear that people can steal your money. They would need PIN numbers in order to do that. Buying and selling overseas is totally safe. As mentioned before, make sure the funds are in your account first, then ship the car.

If the car don't have a title it will not leave the US it will be stopped by the custom.

I have a title, it's from the seller I purchased from, not from CT

Sold one a few years ago to a guy in France. Bank wire with no issues, took 4 days once they wired the funds to get it in my account.

Wire transfer happens when the sender pushes the transfer button. Instantaneously.

True on the buyer's end, but it doesn't go directly into the seller's account instantly like you see in the movies. The can be a lag of just hours or it can take several days. It all depends where it's coming from.

Interesting.
I recently sold two pieces of real estate and received the wire instantaneously.
What would hold up an overseas wire for days?

My bank told me it takes normally 3-5 days "working-days"from Sweden to US and those numbers has been correct when I have bought cars from US

I sold a house 9:00 this morning & nothing in my account yet. I bank at a credit union & the transaction coming in has to go through a couple of layers of red tape once the button is pushed. I'm not sure what's involved with the buyer, their bank and attorney to set the funds in motion.

Just to be clear. These banks - Chase as an example- move 6 trillion dollars a day. Are you telling me the transfer can’t happen in an instant. The only reason it doesn’t is because both banks are making money off the delay. They jam us on each transaction.

I’d imagine that hadn’t initiated the transaction on their end.

When I signed at the title company I asked the agent if the buyer wired my money yet. She said they just wired it.
I had my wife phone our bank, and the money was there.

Either way, I would just hold the car until my financial institution said they had the wire.

Maybe overseas / international wire transfers are different?

First up - Please do not be afraid of selling to guys overseas....I'm one of them.

I bought parts several times () by Paypal and Wire Transfer to other countries. One that springs to mind is a bunch of parts bought by me from Bouchillon Performance - I wired (Bank Telegraphic Transfer) the money inclusive of the fee to their bank account. Money left my account instantly, but it was approximately 5 days before their bank actually cleared the funds at their end. Do not stress over this - it's how banks make their money. It is not lost or stolen, it's just how things work....a lot of checking & double-checking that everything is correct.

I have also bought parts from many of you guys here, and mainly by PayPal. :)
We are not rogues

I bought my A100 over the phone, and from an advert in an Arkansas Online Trader magazine. This time I had to step the seller through setting up a PayPal account just to accept my deposit. I then sent the balance to a trusted friend in Texas, who then drove across state to pay for the truck in full. It worked out well for me....cost me a little more, but was worth the effort.

This is what I saw...

How long does it take for funds to "clear"?
I just sold a 1960 Dodge to a gentleman in new Zealand. The deposit showed by Paypal within an hour. His bank wired the balance in three days. It did take 30 days to get a trucker to pick it up, but this time of year it was understandable. It sold on Bill of sale only as well.

There were no problems at all. Very nice guy!

it was a real sight watching this guy climb around that nine car hauler! Putting a non running no brakes car on the top behind another Cadillac that wouldn't start!35 degrees in the dark too!
I stuck around for fear he was going to need an ambulance!
