Materials question.

I have a good set of hinges - pretty sure they're the same '66-'70.

As for your panels, do the foam thing and then 'glass over the foam. Forget making molds - too much trouble for a single part.
Resin doesn't melt the foam?
 
What kind of foam are you using? I would think that a close cell polyurethane spray foam would be hard enough, but maybe not after you shave off the outer layer.
 
Its not a matter of "hardness", its a matter of does the glass resin dissolve it or not.
 
His original post mentioned glueing leather to a substrate. That's what I was answering to. He could shape foam then cover it. Don't know if I'd like a hard fiberglass armrest.
