Depends on the foam. White styrofoam mets but I don’t think yellow spray foam does. All the supports in aftermarket glass hoods are foam.

What kind of foam are you using? I would think that a close cell polyurethane spray foam would be hard enough, but maybe not after you shave off the outer layer.

Its not a matter of "hardness", its a matter of does the glass resin dissolve it or not.

His original post mentioned glueing leather to a substrate. That's what I was answering to. He could shape foam then cover it. Don't know if I'd like a hard fiberglass armrest.
