Hey guys, I am new to the mopar scene but have ALWAYS loved them. I'm most familiar with chevy stuff but finally got my hands on a 73 satellite sebring. I am intimated because I know nothing about mopar engines or trannys. It has a 318 and has sat since at least 2007.The car is actually in good shape for sitting in a field, the interior is dirty but looks to have been re done at one point in time. Car has been repainted purple and faded over the years.

The original owner died and the family was selling it. The car sat with no valve covers, they were sitting in the trunk. Made me worried something was wrong, I took a gamble and decided if the car turned over I'd buy it. The family had no idea why it was apart as he had 15+ cars they were selling. Motor turns fine so I bought it. Spark plug wires were all chewed off and the distributor wires were too. I put new wires on and fixed the others and cranked it over and she ran for a goof 2-3 seconds on starting fluid. I believe the motor is fine. I found a new cam and lifter inside the car so I believe he was fixing to change the cam. Any tips or advice would be appreciated. I paid $1500 for the car, do you think I got a good deal?

Welcome. Is the body solid? Looks like a good starting point.

Welcome aboard from NJ. You hit the jackpot! You've got a fine Mopar there and this is the absolute best B Body site on the web. After a while you will come to know that not only are these cars some of the best ever produced but also some of the most reliable while being some of the sexiest sculptures to roll down the road. Ask the man (or woman) who owns one! Best of luck with it! :)

welcome to FBBO

Thank you all! I'm excited to get this going. I got a clean title with it so once it runs ill be cruising with the family. Pretty bummed right now though. I got it to run a couple days ago, been messing with it for a couple hours now and cant get it to fire. I ordered a new distributor since this one had the wires chewed off but its weird to be I got fire before but not now. Taking a break right now but ill hopefully get it running and idling soon!
