ive been trying to score this truck for around a year now.
finally got it today, and got it home.
78 prospector 2wd longbed.
95k original miles,318 with headers and duals,with a 9-1/4? rear with 323 gears.
almost mint interior,w cruise control and tilt.
when i opened the dash,i was blown away by the stash of paperwork which included....
the original dealer sales receipt!
along with,a rather odd handwritten note showing the options and a diff price?...?

while i realize this is a truck, look what he traded in towards it,a 73 charger!
and they gave him 3300 bucks in 1978 !
i found that to be pretty interesting money for a 5 year old car.

Im sure your thinking is correct. That Charger must have been mint. Cool truck, my dad had a couple similar to it back in the day.

maybe it was a 1973 Challenger

Interesting point. But since neither was considered collectible by most at that time, it makes me wonder, which of the two car lines was considered higher price in '73, and which commanded a higher resale value in '78?? Just thinking out loud.......
