Don't think I shared this on here yet but here's my new gem. Before I quit racing 10 years ago I rode KX250's so when my daughter talked me into buying her a bike the hunt began. I don't think it even had 10 hours on it and it absolutely rips!! You'll quickly get my username lol.

Nice! I had to give up riding all together. I used to race here in New England. Just amateur. Broke my back when I was 18 and it really caught up to me when I was 45. Even simple trail riding would cause me pain for a week. I was a Suzuki/Yamaha guy. I really miss it.

I raced for 15 years then severely herniated a disc, just got it fixed so I'm good to go but know the feeling. Definitely won't be doing the things that I used to but just getting out on the track again is a blast.

there old riders & bold rider
but very few old bold riders :poke:

there's those that have been down
& there those whom are going down :poke:

I loved dirt-bike/MX etc. when I was younger too
did TT's, Enduro's, even tried trials
& raced at Hangtown (Prairie City) a few times too
my 1st bike like 10, was a Ace 100 Hodaka, then a 125 Combat Wombat
late 60's crap
then got introduced to Kawi's, rode a KX 125, 250 & later a 450
loved the long suspension travel, compared to what I was raised on
could go balls out, the bumps/whoops weren't as big as an issue
Had a few (Suzuki) RM & (Yamaha) IT 400 desert bikes too
I got into a KTM 490 mid late 80's, from a friend of mine "was scared of it"
in Alaska, it was 'fast & fun as **** too'
I loved the wide open stuff, that bike was night & day from the rest...

I gave it up "sort of" (see later) for concentrating on cars & drag-racing
at about 30-ish, still dabbled in bikes, just not dirt-bikes or MX
sort of tired on being injured too, never really bad
(sort of, long story)
but it negatively effected my drag-racing

2 of my girls Jessica, Rachel & my nephew Keith really loved riding
the rest 2 other girls Rebecca, niece Sabrina & James were into horses
or Jeeps/4x4's or the Honda 3 wheeler on the property or at the track
(dragstrip)
after a couple years
later I bought a couple early 90's 350cc Banshee, Yamaha Quads,
fun as ****, fast as **** too
I did a bunch of tuning & pipe/expansion chamber, carbs
big desert 5+gal. tank, different tires rims,
extended suspension & longer a-arms (long travel stuff) etc. etc. etc.
& it was a lot less time on the ground or high-sided
or taken out by a damn rut :poke: Like on the bikes
4 wheels are better than 2 (just kidding, sort of)
I just sold them a couple years ago

I'd still ride, just resisted the temptations to buy a MX bike
I may buy another Quad, maybe even another dirt bike, never say never

I still get the itch today, but at 61, not the best idea,
I know I won't heal as fast or easily as I once did...

I was fortunate with injuries, a broken collar bone and over time a herniated disc (I believe was more from lifting then anything else). I never road over my head but practiced almost daily on my own track which was very technical, made the race tracks seam easy. I loved wide open tracks and big jumps, hit a few 110'-120' jumps, always trying to triple or quad jumps that weren't meant to be done... one attempt knocked me out lol. The back made me give it up then the daughter came along and here I am, second day on the bike I hit every jump on my old track after being off of one for 10 years... talk about adrenaline! Just got the back issue fixed, I'll lay low for awhile just goon riding but hoping to do a few Vet class races next year just for fun. Thought I was done but never lost the itch, hard to match the power per weight ratio and the adrenaline rush but I have a family now, no more idiotic stunts.

I just sold my last quad a year ago. Yamaha Raptor 660. Was fun, fast, tough on my back though. I'd let the nephews ride it but they didn't know how. Kept getting it stuck in the woods, I'd have to trek through the woods to get them out. They always stalled it out, ruined the starter and battery, wore out the clutch. I had enough. Fixed it up and sold it.

My son will be 17 September 4, he’s Autistic and has been talking about getting mini bikes, quads, off road go karts and electric bicycles so I bought a 03’ RM 85 from my cousin. I used to ride 125’s back in the day so I thought this would be good for him. NOT! This thing friggin rips! I rode it down the street and coming back I hit 2nd, nailed it and rode a wheelie for 4 houses!

I think it’s too much for him so I’m looking to get a couple cheap quads for him and my daughter (12). Here it is, hell the tires are original on it and I have new stickers for it.
