I don't really know if stalling is the correct term. But when I press down on the gas pedal, sometimes I can feel the car stall / hesitate. I have to very, very slowly lower the pedal and that helps most of the time. It's worse from a dead stop or after slowing down, then accelerating again. The car has died once after trying to accelerate.

Could this be an issue with my choke? I have an Edelbrock 1411, electric choke.

Any other ideas?

Definitely sounds like a fuel issue. Are you sure your fuel lines are not too close to any extreme heat (exhaust manifolds/headers, heater core lines, etc.) ? High temps could cause your gas to boil before it hits the carb, and acceleration may be depleting the fuel in your float bowls and leaving only the boiling gas, causing an uneven and/or weak combustion.

If there aren't any issues with temperature, maybe you need a higher volume fuel pump?

Just some thoughts off the top of my head.

Could be the accelerator pump. Is this a known good carburetor? How long have you owned the car and have you dealt with any issues like this before?

Brand new fuel filter and Edelbrock 1411, replaced both a week ago. Had same issue with last Carburetor, but not as bad. Never died and I'd feel it for a second if I accelerated too fast and just ease on the pedal to correct. Now I can feel it hesitate and stall if I accelerate most of the time.

When is the last time you checked the fuel pump and pump push rod?
Float bowl levels are correct?

Is the choke fully open when the engine is at normal operating temp?

Correct accelerator pump rod setting? Sounds like it needs a bigger squirt.
Make sure timing is correct.

Thank you all for the ideas. I didn't consider any of this. I will work on it when I get the chance and report back.

You can use carb cleaner or brake kleen. But, be careful it is flammable. Spray it around carb base, intake, PVC, while the car is running. If the RPM's change while you are squirting you have a leak. I've also heard of guys using a little soapy water in a spray bottle. Keep us posted.
