Just talking 383, not your stroker. What is the fastest E.T. you have turned either 1/4 or 1/8. I'm running mine, and dynoing mine next weekend at the #MoparVsBrandXstreetcarShowdown in AL. I suspect I will be able to outdo my showing from last year as I had a reaction ring in the trans break and didn't get to run but a couple passes. Of that the Best was a 7.98 @ 87mph. This is a.030 over383, 915 heads, flat tops, and with a 3.55 gear set. What have you ran?

Watching as I have a rear engine 383 (only because the car is a project, and the engine is sitting on a stand behind the car, and the trans outside the passenger door)!

Got one just like Sabdbug. Interested in seeing where this goes.

As far as stock I think Dave Wren in a 69 coda. 9.70s I believe.

I have covered the 1/4 mile in 5.45 seconds with my 383 B-body. I was going 165 when I started timing it.

My best with a stock 383 with headers, cheater cam and 456 rear with slicks in a quarter mile was 12.6

Same as above. went 12.53 in my 66 Coronet with cam and E-Street heads, 4.10 rear gear, 727 with brake & 3800 stall converter. Launch on the brake at 3200 spinning the radial slicks at BIR. When I got home noticed the passenger side headers had 1/4 inch dents in the center tubes where they were hitting the shock tower. Broken driver's side motor mount.

Holy crap....Mid 12s with a 383?
I'm hoping for a 14 flat with my combination.
1970 Charger, 383 with 9.2 to 1 compression, Comp 270/470 hydraulic cam, Performer RPM intake, Holley 750 VS, 1 7/8" headers, Electronic ignition, 727 with factory Hi-Stall, 3.23 or 3.55 gears.

383 with the MP 280°/.474 cam, 1 5/8" headers 4 spd and p225 70 14 street tires - 8.6 @ 85, 13.3 @ 107. w/ a 2.2 60ft. Probably a 12.80 car with a tire and non slipping clutch.

What's your car weigh again?

My full weight 67 charger original 383 4 bbl, 4 speed with a warmed up 383 (1970 block), 4.10 8 3/4, 915 heads, some cam, 750 Holley, Holley street dominator intake, 1 3/4 headers and full exhaust ran a couple 13.78s. Traction and tires were a huge issue, and it was hard on the drive train, but it pulled hard at 4200 DA. Would have been a lot quicker in an auto. 60’ was brutal, but I was happy. With an open 2.94 I was a low of 14.07 and still hit 103 mph in 3rd at 5700 rpm. Usually ran low 15/high 14 but mowed a bunch of other “slow” cars down at the big end.

I have driven other 383s in lighter cars at 11.60s. NA and 120+ mph. Usually out mph equivalent 440s, but slower ETs. Their faces look funny when you drive away from them

No reason a 383 can't run easy low 12 high 11. Heck my 9-1 360 has been 12.50@110 with mufflers and air cleaner in place.

Without any qualifiers I cannot see why it couldn't be even quicker

Magnum spec 383 with torker, small headers, 750dp, 3.91's went 13.30 @102.35.

Over the course of 2 years I took more than a second off the et of that 69 Coronet without replacing any hard parts. Just tuning and learning.
