68 Charger Owners, Need Some Help

Looking to dress up the engine bay to how it looked from the factory.

1. Were the PS pump caps painted black or did they leave the factory silver?

2. Were the carb springs all green with the orange strip for a 383?

3. Did the power steering return hose connecting to the PS pump & gear box come with the red clamps? Mine had a corbin clamp and a worm one on it when I got the car. I'm pretty sure it was the orig. hose

Were all of the dist caps tan or were some black?

Paint it all black on the PS pump

Corbin clamps on 68 PS return line

tan distributor caps

Unsure of return spring

If it were mine....
Zinc plated ps cap
Red spring clamps on ps return
Tan dist cap
Green return spring with orange stripe

Zinc plated PS cap for this style pump, not painted.

All the caps are Zinc plated. Parts counter caps are never painted. They got painted with the entire pump and brackets together.

I’ve seen factory photos and everything is painted black on the PS pump.

Question Is did the cap get replaced, or did the paint come off of the plating?

Those pictures are from a 68 GTX that was determined to be as original, survivor, as they come.
I’ve had 3 cars now with that style pump, all three were not painted. 2 early 67s and one late 68. PS caps are typically not an item you would think would be replaced but who knows.

The other style pump has a black cap, not sure what that one is called.

Thanks Guys. I have a Federal PS pump. Anyone have any survivor pic's of the PS return hose clamps.

Got some info from Rick Ehrenberg. Federal caps were zinc plated. TRW units got a black cap. Return hose gets the red spring clamps.
