I'm trying to remove the oil pressure switch so that i can install an aftermarket pressure gage to go along with it. 1967 Belvedere with a 273. My biggest socket is a 15/16th and is too small. I went to the local autoparts store and found a special socket that is 1-1/16", but it is too big, and just spins on the sensor. Is it a 1"? I see some of the special sockets will work for 1" or 1-1/16" I can't seem to find the size anywhere online, and don't want to buy another wrong size. Thanks.

I removed mine using channel locks wrapped with a shop rag. Like you I couldn’t find a socket that would fit.

10 is close to 3/8”, this a whole lot bigger

If you were closer, I have a old Cornwell that has both sizes in one socket that you could borrow.

Here is the style socket you need.

I've taken similar stuff off by using a timing belt grabbing it with vice grips and essentially making a strap wrench.
They aren't really tight and there is oil beneath so it should come off.

I found the socket online that Hunt2Elk has shown for $15 online. I hate to pay that for something i'll probably only use one time, so I'll give a couple of the other suggestions a try first and report back. Thanks for all the response, this was suppose to be a simple thing, lol.
