Installed this dizzy and runs like crap. Holley tech says rfi/emi issue. Added grounds, shielding, rerouted wires, etc. and doesn’t help. It’s so bad it does when you install air cleaner. engine is a 440 in a ‘70 Belvedere.

I wish I could offer more help. I've been running the Holley Sniper EFI with Hyperspark distributor controlling timing for several years now with 0 issues. Fired right up the first time after install. I had to tweak timing just a hair from where I had it after using their plastic cap thing to align the rotor, to get my static timing just right and it's been good since. Apparently a lot of people have RFI issues with these. Make sure that you're running resistor style plugs and wires. You may want to double check your setup on the handheld and verify your timing to make sure that's not the issue as well.
Best of luck with it! I know these setups can run good, apparently I got lucky with my install.

Thanks. What plugs are you running? I’m using autolite 25s but don’t think they are resistor type.

The fords seem to have alot of problems with emi and the Snipers. I assume it has to do with the fact that the cap is close to the front mounted ecu on the sniper. If you cover the cap with a couple layers of tinfoil does it settle down? Just for a test. If so, some have made a "shield" that mounts to the two front carb studs and has some of that heat shield insulation on backside. I believe that's what it was. I have a Sniper, no issues but rear mounted distributor. Next time I'm definitely going separate computer and individual injectors.

I had an issue with the ignition coil mounted in the original location on an Edelbrock RPM intake manifold on a 505ci stroker engine. The coil was too close to the front of the throttle body / ECU causing interference. I moved it away using the Mancini relocation bracket and fixed the problem. See photo.

I've installed a few of these systems and highly suggest using a simple relay to get a clean 12v signal while in crank and run positions. The first install I did worked okay without the relay but the next one would hardly run and was fixed by installing a relay. It all depends on the condition of your ignition switch, etc. Now I'll never install another one without using a relay.

I'm running the NGK xr5 plugs, I think they're #3332.
Coil location could definitely be an issue too, like 69GTX mentioned. I've always had my coil over on the passenger side firewall, so nowhere close to the ECU on the sniper or the distributor wiring.

I have my coil under the windshield washer bottle. I have an adjustable “timed” relay but thinking about adding standard one.

I also had no issues with any RIF in mine. though in the installation i made double sure to run things away from any source of problem.
