I finally pulled the trigger after a few years of waiting. I purchased all door panels, front and back seats with the foam kit, package tray and a few or the same things. Unfortunately I was told complete delivery of my order will take 234 days.

I gues I have plenty of time to figure out how to install the new seat covers or take it to a shop.

How difficult is installing new covers? I think this is something I can complete but it is also expensive so I do not want to mess it up.

12/29/21 I order the window felt/cat whiskers kit (inner/outer) and I received a email saying that it’ll be 180 days before I get my order Smdh.

On a scale of difficulty, seat covers are about
4 in 10. Temps play a big part. A good hog ring
plier and an ample supply of hog rings....
good to go. Though you probably can' t tell
much from the pic, I did these myself. A 2"
diamond tuck and roll on the wifes' sewing
machine. They're a velor/foam. Easy to sew.
Probably can't tell much thru the plastic.
Square the cover up and pull it tight, depressing
the springs as you go.

If it is not on their shelves then it is about an 8 month wait. Should be getting in some 70 GTX interior that we ordered 8 months ago.

Sad. For this very reason I purchased 2 bolts
and some foam. Still have the door panels,
kick panels, and headliner to complete.
I hate waiting for anything I''ve spent good
money for.

I placed my order for everything for the Charger around Thanksgiving....she said probably sometime in August...

Try waiting for Door Panels, for Over 5 Years. Won't name the Company, as a New Person is in charge. Hoping for a resolution soon...

Legendary always has a long backlog, years ago it took 6+ months to get a complete interior. Always wondered why they ran sales when they have more work than they can handle.

Year One is not doing a whole lot better. I placed an order with them a few weeks ago, received one item - rest on back order. When I emailed them this week for an update they said they had placed adders to their suppliers and as soon as they received them they would ship to me.

On the seat covers I would get a bag of cotton batting as there always seem to places where the foam doesn’t quite fill, especially with original foam. I used cheese cloth to lay over areas where I had to place quite a bit of batting to hold it and smooth it. I used some 1” and 1/2” firm sheet foam in some places the original foam just didn’t seem to fill to the cover and be snug. An electric carving knife work great to carve foam. Most of this can be ordered on Amazon or obtained at a larger fabric store. The only thing I would be careful about buying are the hog rings as there are a lot of thin wire gage, short leg ones out there. You want good heavy wire ones with longer legs to bite though everything they need to. And get lots of them because as you put the covers on fully the first time and stand back you will see corners that are puckered up for lack of foam under them, low and high areas across the tops or bottoms, etc. and you will be taking them at least partially a few times to correct those areas, using more hog rings. A full time upholster probably sees these areas in advance. But us occasional ones just have work it until the fit good and look right.

DO your own covers! It's really very fun and Legendary makes awesome stuff. Hopefully it won't take that long...

Do yourself a favor if you are going to replace the foam ONLY use Legendary's foam. They are not all the same and Legendary's covers fit so tight that others foam can be a big problem to the point of even causing the seams to tear open. If their foam is not used they will not warranty the covers. Btw, it's worth the wait.

I would recommend doing your own seats. Like 1STMP said, you just need some hog ring pliers and a lot of hog rings and you will be good to go. I didn't have any experience before I did mine and they turned out really well in my opinion. The only tip that I can offer is that if they have lines or a pattern that goes from the bottom to the top bucket, make sure they match up because your eye will easily catch it if its not. I had to redo my first seat because it was ever so slightly off (used same cover). Now if your car has a separate head rest, I have no idea how to do those.

I did my own. I also ordered the foam kit and installation kit. My seats turned out great. By the time I got to the back seat I thought I was a pro!

Just ordered seat covers this past weekend. End of August this year for delivery. Good thing I’m in no hurry.

You saw what Cr8crshr did with his seats when I tweeked your timing, it's not hard at all! You have plenty of time to do some homework on how to change them, as well as time to find a buddy to help do them. You have to be stupid and not be paying attention to really bork them up. 4 hands are better than 2 when it comes to upholstery, your hands will thank you later! Good Luck

Yep it isn't all that difficult. In fact, and 69a100 will attest to this, I was very hesitant about doing it the first time when I re-skinned my front seats in my 66 Chrysler 300 I had. He also was doing his and I still balked at it until he got his kit and I helped. I learned a lot too and it really wasn't at all difficult. The foam on the 300 had some dry rotted issues but with some scrap foam from a fabric store, cutting and gluing to build back up what I cut out, and after the re-skin, you couldn't see any difference. When I did my 66 Ply Sat seats both front and rear and the door panels, I did get new front seat foam from Legendary but the rear was actually quite good despite the years. The door panels were still in good shape with the skin but the backing was trashed. I tried to re-skin them getting new similar backing board from the home center, re-glued them but I cut them a tad too short so there is a gap from the sill plate/bottom of the door upwards about an inch. I did find some replacement Legendary ones on line for cheap, still brand new, and have them but as of yet not swapped them out. The Hog Rings are available online as well as the Hog Ring Pliers. A good investment for further use. One important tip...The lasting wire for the seats often times is either missing or in sad shape, And the sometimes in good shape to reuse. You need those to make the re-skin look correct as without them the finished look sucks. Good luck and when you get yours, if you need some support you know where you can come and get it...FBBO...cr8crshr/Bill:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::usflag::usflag::usflag:

I ordered the package tray and door panels last year in February and got the package tray in August and the door panels in October.

I have ordered the foam kits with the seats. Front is a bench seat so I am thinking I will start with the rear seat so I can be better when I start the front.

I knew that it would take time to get the order I was just surprised at 8 months delivery time. I am thinking about pulling the seats in a few months and making any repairs that I might not know about and paint them. I have already replaced the dash pad a few years ago (no fun) and the headliner is there but needs to be re-done.

With replacing all of the door panels the original pad and hardware are in good condition but my not look great with new material, so would it be better to just replace all at once for a more consistent look?
