I had to go to town today to pickup my prescriptions. The place was an absolute madhouse. People buying everything on the shelves, kinda cracked me up. We are supposed to get 6" to 10" Wednesday and Thursday. By the weekend it's going to be back in the 40s.

Wow 6” - 10’ how are you guys going to survive!? Yeah I know I sound a little hypocritical being in SoCal and all. But the real deal is I spent half my life in Minnesota and had seen it all up there including -80 wind chill and going out and doing the paper route as another day in the office. Snow up to our waist et al. Then another 10 year chunk in Colorado. So I’ve done my share. Hunker down, stay off the roads and stay safe. This too shall pass as they say.
 
Colorado has been a piece of cake this year. Dang, I thought everyone in OK had a lifted 4x4.

I'm an Oakie. Still can't shake the Tulsa accent. It's a mix of Oklahoma and the Ozarks. Kinda sing-songy.

They do that around here with 2" in the forecast. Makes you wonder what they would do in a real emergency situation.
 
Be careful. 6-10” can shut your world down if it is not your normal experience. A lot can happen with wet heavy snow. It is amazing how much it weighs. Trees snapping, roofs collapsing, people blowing out their backs shovelling.

And I live in midMichigan and can't get the snow I desire. Last year sucked here also, only had to snow blow 2 times all winter. Only 2 times so far this winter. By the way I am an avid snowmobiler.

Yea I really was being sarcastic, although I'm a native down hear these people crack me up. All these preparations for 2 days of winter weather.
 
We have a "winter storm watch" in effect, for Wed till Fri, 10-15", in WNY. My new boss called and said "get ready to be out". He's just learning the business, and listens too much to the Air Heads. I"m not seeing anything now on US radar, but I'm sure we'll get some.
45 years ago, to the day, we were experiencing the "Blizzard of '77". Four days of snow & wind, some locations receiving nearly 100" of snow, with blowiing, & drifting. It took nearly a week to open the area roadways, with the National Guard aiding using their heavy equipment, loaders, bulldozers, and haulers to remove it. We were going house to house, to check on neighbors, and shuttle food, drink, and well being, as we had some elderly folks around, and the snowmobiles were the only means.
After that one, they're All just minor inconveniences...
 
Look on the bright side. Spring is on it's way ! Gotta look for better days ahead.
 
We're supposed to get rain today, turning into snow tomorrow and the same for Thursday. All total around 6 to 8 inches and a 20 percent chance of 12 inches. People have lost their minds gripped in fear. It makes me wonder what these same people would do if life threw them a real world problem. The media loves to keep up the pressure with their up to the minute updates with will start sometime tomorrow. I hope I have enough toilet paper to make it to the other side of this Apocalyptic event.

You guys are almost in the bullseye. Central Missouri is supposed to get 12" plus. This kinda stuff will bring Oklahoma to a standstill as they don't have the equipment nor the knowledge to get it done. It won't bother me, after 30 winters I don't have to drive in it anymore

You're right, but it's the news that scare people completely to death. As RC said about all they got, in a few days all is fine. I know what you mean about having the equipment to do the job, fortunately that's not the case here. Same here about not having to drive in it.
