Crappy cars that have become classics.

How about a 1988 S-10 Sport 5 speed?
The Sport was the first ZQ8, has the code.

Mine came out of the woods on a farm where it sat since 1994.
Rust free, a little time and parts and it's a daily.

Needs some finishing still, but in good shape, these small square bodies are worth not nothing.

Driving from the right side of the car would be weird but then trying to shift with my left hand would take weird to the next level.
It's honestly no big deal. I drive my daily and shift with my left hand, then jump in the Satellite and shift with my right. It feels completely natural for both.

They became classics???

I'm thinking Ford Falcon. Not my cup of tea, but there are a bunch around here, probably because of the relative affordability compared to other models.
I got an education on this when I attended the Ford Nationals in Carlisle this year, with my trucking buddy, who is 56, his older cousin, closer to my age, and a kid in his 20s who works in the shop with my friend. The cousin was a Mustang guy from way back, but is working on a Falcon currently. He wants something that will stand out from the sea of Mustangs, but can use the huge stash of parts he's accumulated over the years. The kid is into Ford Rangers, no real interest in passenger cars.

My friend falls more in line with baby boomer tastes. High performance, nascar type Fords, street rodded 70s pick up trucks. He has the means to play at far higher level financially than the other two.

I have to agree. The first time I jumped in a RHD 5 speed I was a little leary. But like you said , it felt pretty natural. Could be something to do with the other side of the brain?? Don't know
