Well- getting close
I had the distributor rebuilt and the cap he put on was wrong- had to find one
One fuel line was leaking, and my rebuilt starter is about to **** the bed

But it wants to go! Lots of spark and oil pressure.
Just need a faster starter - going to put a mini on it for now and change back later

Well- new update. Changed the starter to a mini starter- much better to crank it over.
We need to solve the timing issue and the biggest problem- the new fuel line kit is leaking at both carbs, the t block and where is goes into the pump. Not sure who flared this thing ….

But it did fire up and run for a bit before we shut it off because of the stupid fuel leaks
I’ve had good luck tightening and loosening flare fittings 4 or 5 times before a final tightening. It helps conform the flare to the seat. If all else fails the conical brass flare seals work well to seal them up. They come in different sizes but this is an example.
I'll second what @AR67GTX said. Usually tightening and loosening several times will do it. And lean on the line wrench too. New fittings need some "oomph" to get them to seat!

Lots of smoke in the garage - combo of the oil in the motor from the priming that was done on it- then when that cleared - it was the painted manifolds - ha
