After 20 years the 318 in my 69 Sport Satellite finally gave up. It was a good run. I've pulled the motor and ready to go to my buddies shop. I have a set of truck heads from the mid 80s. Looking for the unleaded heads to run the crappy gas in todays world. The heads have these little holes...
I have a 440 that I bought 20+ years ago. It was built with the 511 horsepower kit. What was the cam specs? I'm going to need one and I want the same spec cam to replace it. Thanks
Is there a difference in the size of the vent bolt for an 8 3/4? I took the one of my spare from a 65 B-body Wagon 741 case and it was too big for my 69 A-body 741. Also the two had different splines.
So I have a newly rebuilt 727 and I put in a new O-ring with the dipstick tube. The top of the dipstick was hitting the valve cover so I gave it a little tweak. Would this cause the O-ring to leak? Is there a slightly larger O-ring to compensate for wear?
I'm getting ready to drop in the distributor and line it up. Does it matter if #1 is TDC at compression or exhaust to align the distributor? This is something that I haven't done in about 25 years. I just don't remember.
Hey all, I've been scrolling through the various threads. A question I have is about the flex plate. I already have a 360 torque converter. Are the flex plates the same on all the LA small blocks? If not, what's a good aftermarket one? This is for a 79 360. I may have a flex plate form a 1989...
So what is your preference for an aftermarket cable floor shifter? I will be putting one in my 65 Belvedere wagon. In the past I've had the Hurst Quarterstick. I am kind of leaning towards the B&M. I want it old school.
So, I have a 79 360 out of a Dodge pickup to go in my 65 Belvedere wagon. I'm doing a little cleaning up to make it look decent under the hood. I have a spare timing cover from a 75 Dart 318. I figure I'll clean it up and paint it all pretty like. Are the crank seals the same for both or was...
So in the last thread, I posted about finding another 273 at a local junkyard. It turns out that it's a late 60s vintage 318. Around 1967 -1969 believed to be from an A-body Barracuda. I may end up getting it after all. This would be for my 65 Belvedere wagon that has the factory 273.
Now I...
So in another thread I talked about finding another 273 at a local junk yard that's going out of business. They said it came out of either a 66 or 67 Barracuda. I want it for a spare for my 65 Belvedere wagon 273. Are there any little differences in the motors that I should know about? Things...
I was at a local junkyard that I've done business with since I was a kid in the 80s. They are cleaning house and retiring soon. I went there the other day with my 65 Belvedere wagon. It has the original 273. Wayne is a Mopar guy. He showed me a 273 he has in the back of a van. Says it came out...
Hi all. Just got my 67 Fury 3 wagon back from the bodyshop. All the little rot holes are fixed and they blended the paint really good. Next is to freshen up a 75 318 because the original motor has issues that I really don't feel like waiting on a machine shop to hold me up for months. It's a...
Just curious. Can either of these engines bolt up to an old Mopar and just swap to an old intake and carb and electronic ignition conversion kit or is it a big hassle? I see a lot of 1990s Rams in junk yards rotted out but with good motors.
My wife's wagon is a 65 Belvedere II. A couple of years ago the axle bearings went. I had a spare 8.75 Suregrip from a 68 Roadrunner. It's all in, new brakes, wheel studs etc etc. I go to put the driveshaft in and the 8.75 is bigger than the one that came out. The U-joint from the 65 is too...
Hey all. The axle bearings let go in my wife's 65 Belvedere wagon. I have an 8 3/4 suregrip rear out of a 68 RR. Are the dimensions all the same for a direct bolt in? Just wondering if the widths and spring perches are the same.
I want to get a better read on my oil pressure rather than just an idiot light. It's a 65 Dodge Coronet 225 /6 auto all stock. Whats a good setup? I know the sending unit is different than the V8s. Who has a decent kit for normal street driving? Sending unit and all. I may also get a matching...
I hope everyone had a great 4th with all this "stuff" going on. I've just been trolling around and reading posts.
My stock floor shifter is really sloppy. I have to give it an extra pop to get it in drive. Before I go all out and buy stuff I don't need what's the best parts to replace to...
