Pulled the engine all stock 440 for an oil leak issue heads off started to push down the lifter plungers of 16 lifters 7 was soft the other 9 rock hard is this normal or do i have leaking lifters ? No noises a slight miss when running can the miss be a leaking lifter ?

Bought the car 2 years a go very ruff shape started to sort it out it had a sligth tvitsch at all rpm levels under load and off load !So i started to mesure things up .It had 4 bad cylinders leaking valves the carbs baseplates were varped do to overtorqe and leaking and so on .Hawe now rebuilt...

Im trying to lokate a missfire in my system and just wondering what does the box do ?

At what point shall there bee vacuum to the outer carbs i tested the vacuum port at idle no vacuum tryed to rev but same result is there vacuum only under load ?

What turns the idle solenoid off after startup ?It operates but does not seem to turn it self off and there is no switsh i kan find ?

Is there a way to findout if the axel is the one that the car was delivered whit from faktory ?
