Anyone using 1157 leds in their tailights n how do you like them. Thanks

Tried them in my 62 Savoy but they wouldn't work. The dealer I bought them from was telling me that some vehicles need to have the voltage regulated to make them work. I think I understood that since they don't require much voltage and if the car's system has too much it has to be dropped down for the lights? I told him they were going on a 62 Plymouth and he told me they should work fine - but I didn't tell him that the car has a full MSD ignition system, aftermarket altenator and battery. I suspect that was my problem.

the biggest problem is the flasher with out enough load and you just need to replace flasher

L66088
12V - L.E.D. Flasher - .02A - 20A Two prong plug-in style Designed to detect a very low amperage draw Excellent for applications where there are not a lot of lights used (smaller trucks)

Product Variations
123-FL66090 (3 prong)

It works from .02amp to 20 amp

Yep, just need a different flasher.

Actually, for me the biggest problem was that the LEDs were simply not very bright. I know there are some good ones out there, but not all are. If you're not familiar with the particular bulb you have in mind, I'd suggest getting just one and testing it first.

I tried these, they didn't work out too well for me so I went back to regular 1157's. I thought I had the right flasher. Maybe the LED bulbs were low quality. Good luck!

make sure you get cree style, much brighter.
