I trimmed all the leftover bits and pieces of the old and set the passenger side quarter on for the first time.

Don’t be too critical- it’ll come on and off a dozen times to make everything right. I also have some rust repair to do. And I might take the tire-rub area out of the wheelhouse.

Overall for a first-fit the AMD part isn’t bad.

After a long break I’m back one the Charger, picking up where I left off fitting metal, making sure all is good.

Next step one I remove it all- rust repair in the rockers and wheelwells.

I’m debating taking the tire-rub hump out of the outer wheel well. I probably will

Starting to look like a charger again. Hope you hot a pretty good deal on it. I've been looking around and prices are stupid high now.

I paid 21k for the car right when the pandemic started. It was a little higher than I wanted to pay, but if I didn’t pay-up someone else would have. It doesn’t need rust repair all over the place either. It’s pretty clean.

The way I looked at it- it’s got a 340 and 727 which is a plus. Someone went thru the car mechanically. It runs great. Interior is great! it’ll look better with a new carpet. 4 wheel discs- that’s $1500. It’s got good wheels and tires- that’s another $1500 I don’t have to spend. That puts me at 18k which I figured was what it was worth. Odometer reads 45k judging by wear and tear it may be correct!

Welded up, primed and assembled probably put it at 30k and lands me ahead!

Excellent. You look at things same way I do. The PW put it at 10 to 20% higher value than a similar roll up window car as well. And the 340 instead of a 318 was a great idea.

Yep, all the windows work. Good original colors, R6 red, black interior. Factory A/C car too. Although missing the engine related side of things. Probably went with the 318 who knows when. Aftermarket A/C is on the list!!

Not an R/T but not bad either

Another day, another patch.

I plan on sandblasting the pitted areas in the pic.

Back on the car again after a string of other things. Cleaned up and refocused.

Began fabbing up a rear rocker panel section. Looking good but still more to do.
First pic is my absolute favorite little welder for sheetmetal!! I’ve used a bunch of different ones. Miller 211, Lincoln MP210. I keep going back to this for the sheetmetal! Love it.

Got a little bit of rocker panel cut off this evening. More trimming needed.

Body guys are next level. I can weld but I cant hammer a dent to save my life.

This evenings progress. First fit. One step closer. I need to match the profile at the front edge before I continue.
I’ll also be replacing the area a few more inches forward. My piece of steel wasn’t wide enough to do it in one piece anyway.

Todays progress- all welded up. Still need a little grinding and trimming the pinch weld edge.
I lap-welded at the top because it isn’t seen and is quicker and easier.
I’ll get some primer on it tomorrow and finish the rear edge of the rocker, then fix the bottom of the wheel well where the vise grip is hanging.

This sides all set. I’ll drill the holes in the bottom of the rocker with a unibit. Some primer and it’s good to go.

Today I smoothed the passenger wheel well. I contemplated sectioning in a wheel well piece from another car or a VW big fender for the shape.
I started playing around and liked how it was coming out. So I finished it up. One side down and one to go. It’s came out pretty good. I may put a little filler to smooth out atleast what is seen from the trunk.
