Well done Dave, and it's a good thing you got the quilt taped to the bird. Would't want the ol' girl getting cold with half her cloths missing...

That's what I was thinking.

Actually I did that while I was sand blasting inside my trunk area last week, didn't want to accidentally pit my back glass.

Well now it's just a couple simple pieces such as trunk extensions, extension end caps which weld to the rear crossmember... A little rocker repair and I can start to trim and prep for quarter skins to go on.

of course I need to clean these wheel house areas and iner rocker areas and at least get some epoxy on those areas before i button things back up. I still have most of a quart of POR15 so I might just use that.

Steele rubber products told me 2 to 4 weeks out yet.

Crossing my fingers.

Detmatt came through big, chunk-o-rocker...

Thank you Matt!!

You got it, looks better allready!! Glad they made it to you, you will need them sooner then later at your pace.

The pieces will likely go in tomorrow after work if I can stay away from that coors thinking juice. lol!

just catching up on your car dave.you are definately moving along.good work on patching your repairs, can't tell the diff.hope your back is feeling better. If you want a little advice, stop taking viagra(they say that causes back pain) LOL.

I'm not willing to give up the viagra, i'll work through the pain.

Actually the back is all better, no problems.

Dave,
YOU ARE MY HERO! Not always just a little lipstick and rouge, or she'll buff right out, as advertised is it? have a great Easter.

You crack me up Dave......I've never seen a man switch beer's so often in my life. Did you rob a local liquor store or something..LOL

typlcal mn.dog, won't chase a ball but will go after the duck slippers. Isee you got your trnk floor in,how did that go.looks good from what i see from the pics.

Trunk floor went well, wheel houses were a bit of a fight. But it's shaping up.

I tackled that bad rocker section this morning.

Big thanks to Detmatt1 for the rocker section that got me all patched up. I used it all even though I trimmed the top off of it. I used what I trimmed off the top to span the gap that I was short and also to patch the rear corner of the rocker backer.

We cleaned up the wheel well areas and hit with some Eastwood rust encapsulator.

I decided to tie my quarter skins in up at the top of the quarter.

Been thinking about it for a while, actually everytime I'm blending out a side weld seam with the body filler & sander I think "damn, should have tried it up top."

So, I ground the edge of the top corner until it was thin, then bent the unwanted tab down so I had at least a 90 degree outside corner to grind on.

Then I pealed it off.

102_5861.jpg

Cleaned the edge and flanged for a slight overlay.

This is how the trimmed quarter skin fits on that flanged edge.

Couple of tack welds up top.

I actually used an old junk screw driver as a pull handle, cold tacked it to the original panel next to the seam and pulled upwards before burning each tack. Then cracked the screwdriver tack loose and moved on. It was barely enough of a tack to pull about 8 pounds of force without letting go.

Trouble down here at the bottom corner of the door.

102_5872.jpg

I used the knurled handle of this pickle fork as a bump dolly to roll this corner out a little deeper with a hammer.

Clamped at the rocker, welding it up.

Here's something I'm not too happy with, the AMD trunk extensions don't come even close to reaching the wheel opening lip or the bottom edge of the quarter.

102_5878.jpg

102_5879.jpg

These 2 tabs could reach but that's all I got for now.

102_5881.jpg

So, one quarter hung.

102_5882.jpg

102_5885.jpg

Top is still just tacked, I need to spool up some .024 wire for this seam. I also need to figure out a solution for those trunk extensions.
