1970 Roadrunner Build

It's looking just beautiful, nice work indeed.

Hey, you slow down on the PRETTY there fella or I'm gonna have to tear mine back apart and clean it up!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Where did you get that new package tray? The only ones I can find have speaker cutouts in them.

This build is very close to what my former 70 Road Runner V code 4 speed, Dana car would have been like, had I not sold it before restoring it. My car was EV2 orange, not EK2. Very cool build, nice work. After selling my car to a friend of mine, who mechanically restored it,he ended up selling the car to the guy I bought it from, and he is doing a full restoration on the car. I missed the car,and my former 70 GTX as well, and recently aquired a 70 Road Runner convertible project, that is a lot more work than the V code Road Runner would have been! Your thread is inspiring to me,and I am going to need all the inspiration I can get to build this car!

70 RR convertible is a great car. Be sure to do a build thread on it when you get started.

I don’t know why I spent some much time on detail when I just can’t wait to fill the rear wheel wells with some shredded rubber

What is the correct black paint to use inside of the wheel wells?
I have undercoating in my wheel wells and wonder what the right paint should be. Thanks.

It was an undercoating/sound deadener from the factory. Resto Rick sells if you are looking for some. I bought 1 gallon and it was enough to do the inside of trunk area on the quarter panels and all four wheel wells.

Been a while since posting updates, but anyway made it through the Holidays only to become the yearly slave to Tax Season. So 5 months later here is the slow winter progress. Carpet and interior installed. Used Legendary complete interior kit and had the headrests restored by Just Headrests.

The door glass adjustments just never really got to a satisfactory condition so I emptied my bank account :( and found some NOS winged window track felts which corrected the problems.

Two and a half years later this Bird is almost ready to fly once again. Going for front end alignment in the next few weeks. Still some minor things to get worked out and yes get the RR decals on the fenders. I couldn’t be happier with the entire car.

I plan on coming to Heritage Days, so maybe we can finally meet up.
We have the Cruise-In this Friday evening as well. Fred, the wife and I will be in attendance, God willing.
