So, I search online for door hinges for my car , I come across classicindustries, they have the parts and show them as " in stock " . I open an account and enter my debit card details ( mistake number 1 should have used a credit card ) I make the order and the hinges automatically change into " out of stock " . And " visa hold pending " ... I wait 4 days and receive an email allowing me to choose a freight company , slight problem it's sent as a PDF file so I can't edit it to accept the freight terms . I reply back explaining the problem ,and request a form that I can edit, 3 days later I receive another form for freight , this time it's a JPEG file ( yep you sent me a picture - great. ) I reply back .... Nothing ... I telephone the international desk , I speak to a guy who's says he's updated my account and the hinges will be sent . I wait another 7 days , my account still shows " out of stock visa pending " . My patience wears thin I check with my bank and they confirm no payment as yet has been taken and they will fight my visa payment corner if it comes to dust up . frustrated I look through eBay and find the same hinges in Colorado , i message the bloke on a Sunday and within 5 hours he confirms he has them and can send them , I order them , next day they have been dispatched - same price and air freight tracking number attached so i now have a new mate in colorado ( note to self : not been to colorado check holiday prices ) Meanwhile back at classicindustries I'm still "on hold" , I email them again explaining I no longer want my order - no reply . 4 days later I email again ..... And that was 5 days ago...
I have exhausted every link on their website to see how to " close my account" - theres NO WAY of closing my account that i can find . Ive sent 2 order cancellation emails - still no reply. I notice they frequently update their Facebook page - so someone's obviously reading emails. So here's my 2 bobs ( 10 cents ) worth .... Don't order from these clowns, seems to me they accumulate orders then order from manufactureres. Their website is very very misleading their Comms are non existent and once an account is opened it cannot be closed . End result ? Youll get "proper mugged off" and fyi where I'm from if someone uses that term its taken as a huge insult .
I needed to share this because there are some great people on this forum from all over the world, so please save your time and hard earned money and profit from my bad experience .
And on the off chance someone from classicindustries reads this post here's food for thought ... " First choice in restoration parts? " .... Don't make me laugh ....I wouldn't touch you with a barge pole .
