2014 4th Annual FABO NHRA "Pick 'Em" Game - Make Your Picks and Light 'Em Up!

Wow! I wonder who the "unidentified" team is? We may see Prock with another team as soon as Las Vegas.
John runs a first-class operation which you can see if you've ever visited either of his locations - either SoCal or Brownsburg, IN, so I'm curious to see what team has been able to entice Prock away.
John is great at always landing on his feet, and usually stronger than before. I wouldn't be surprised to see Mike Neff pulling double-duty on both John's and Robert Hight's funny cars.

Read some rumors that he's going to DSR. Who knows.

Read some rumors that he's going to DSR. Who knows.

Sounds like a Schumacher strategy...steal from your toughest competition to try to guarantee your driver (Hagan) wins a championship.
Just sayin'...

yeah I saw that too, he allegedly told JFR he was going to leave at season end...
But JF gave him his immediate walking papers instead,
after hearing from DSR's Don Schumacher himself allegedly, called out of courtesy to tell John,
that Jimmy the Castrol GTX FC "Prock Rocket" {what JF called it}, his Crew Chief mid season change,
from Mike Neff "Zippy" to Prock, Neff is now Robert's Crew chief,
{Jimmy Prock formerly Robert Hight's long time AAA Crew Chief}
was defecting to DSR JFR's heated rival, for more $$$ no doubt &
JF was having none of it, accepted the resignation effective immediately....

I think a few of the crew from JFR defected too, read in Dragzine article,
it's NHRA espionage...LOL, resulting to stealing Crews & secrets probably, no doubt,
DSR's tired of being second fiddle to JFR in F/C ranks, so he steals/buys the team...

so Don just throws $$$$ at the problem...

Just when Hagan's in 1st place in the points too,
seems a little suspicious & IMHFO it really shouldn't be done, by any team,
it's completely unethical by all senses of the term,
especially at such a crucial time in the NHRA point championship racing,
with only 2 races left Vegas & Pomona & only a round of points between the 2 drivers for a F/C championship...

No Loyalty, chicken **** stuff to steal a Crew chief mid season, he'll be looked on as a traitor,
even if it's the better move for Jimmy Prock's future, it's despicable act of DSR too, he knows this will effect JFR,
how he looks at his teams loyalty & inner ranks, will be questioned...

nothing new really, but surprising none the less...

let the games begin

Johns putting on a good face/showing/spin & you know he's pissed thou,
he's an emotional guy, wears his feeling/heart on his sleeve,
IMHFO he just can't act like he is torn/upset/pissed,
or it could probably/possibly jeopardize/effect future sponsorship or crew/chief deals...

John Force certainly has a way with crew chiefs.

Probably wouldn't happen, but I'd love to see Mopar pull their backing from DSR over these shady dealings and see JFR in Mopars.

John Force certainly has a way with crew chiefs.

He had Austin Coil forever. When Coil retired he had Neff, who was co chief w/Coil. He moved Prock to his car mid '13?. He's the boss, he should have the best man on his crew, I'd do the same. Those guys have been with JFR for a long time, he wasn't firing and hiring different chiefs.

ocdart Hell yes, I'd love to see JFR running Mopars...
I'd like the guy even more

BUT;

my wild a$$ guess is,
it will be GM/Chevrolet again, he has allot of history with them in the past...

there should be some kind of points deductions by NHRA for crew tampering too,
BUT I also highly doubt anything will ever happen to DSR's
Golden spoon fed mentality of NHRA racing operations thou....

I just meant that Coil was great with him and then suddenly gone and now the same with Prock. I think that was a shitty thing for Schumacher to do. There should be some kind of penalty.

Larry Dixon and Dave Connolly to race Top Fuel full-time in 2015

The worst kept secret in NHRA is now official as Bob Vandergriff Jr. officially announced his retirement from driving following the completion of the current 2014 season. The announcement was on NHRA.com this morning and confirms both Larry Dixon and Dave Connolly will be a two-car team with both racing the complete 2015 NHRA Mello-Yello Series Top Fuel season for BVR.

Whoops! I'm a day late so I guess this is your Wednesday-before-the-event reminder that the next-to-last event of the "Countdown", and of the 2014 NHRA season, is the 14th annual NHRA Toyota Nationals at "The Strip" at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, NV, October 30 - November 2.
As always, your picks need to be posted before Pro Qualifying starts on Friday, October 31, in order to qualify for all event bonus points.
Pro qualifying is scheduled to start at 1:00PM PDT (4:00PM EDT).
The Toyota Nationals entry list is posted on NHRA.com and currently shows 22 Top Fuel, 20 Funny Car, 18 Pro Stock and 23 Pro Stock Motorcycle entries, but the counts are still subject to change. Keep checking http://www.nhra.com/events/entrylist23.aspx for an updated entry list to make sure your pick is racing at this event.

Get your picks posted and GOOD LUCK!

Torn between Force and Hagan. I'm sure Prock will be tuning Hagan's car, will John be rattled? Should make for an interesting weekend. Good all!

Here's what John's going to be driving in Vegas at the NHRA Toyota Nationals. Just the perfect paint scheme to run at a Toyota-sponsored race IMO.

And here's what John had to say about it on NHRA.com:
“I wanted something that really showed who I am. I am American Made and everything about John Force Racing comes back to that idea. This is a tribute to all my employees who are American Made and work harder than any team out here. I love America and I love NHRA Drag Racing. This was the perfect look for my 16-time championship Funny Car,” said Force.
“I want to thank the fans and all my sponsors. Doing specialty cars is always tricky, but my sponsors have been great and I know the fans will get a kick out of seeing this red, white and blue hot rod on the track during qualifying in Las Vegas,” added Force.

Oh yeah, according to another story on NHRA.com, John will be tuned at Las Vegas by John Medlen with input from Mike Neff.

And Schumacher claims he's going to put Prock to work helping with Jack Beckman's car at Las Vegas. They say they haven't yet decided which one of Schumacher's seven fuel teams Prock will land next year.

It may look like a Mustang, but it's still a Hemi-based engine under there. I'm rooting for John.
