SPOILER ALERT!!!
Don't read the following Las Vegas pro qualifying information if you're planning to watch the television coverage of qualifying.

Congrats this week to bvt69dart (FABO) for winning the Top Qualifier title at the NHRA Toyota Nationals at The Strip in Las Vegas with a total of 29.5 bonus points. He picked the #1 qualifiers in Funny Car and Pro Stock, the #3 qualifier in Top Fuel, and the #4 qualifier in Pro Stock Motorcycle. Outstanding!
YoungGun74 (FABO) and Hemiroid (FABO) is right behind with 29.0 bonus points. YoungGun74 picked the #1 qualifier in Pro Stock Motorcycle, the #2 qualifier in Funny Car, the #3 qualifier in Top Fuel and the #4 qualifier in Pro Stock. Hemiroid picked the #2 qualifier in both Funny Car and Pro Stock Motorcycle, and the #3 qualifier in both Top Fuel and Pro Stock.
super-bee_ski is the top FBBO picker with 28.0 points.
Way to go all!

This week 23 players (I still haven't seen anything from bad440) picked 19 different driver combinations consisting of:
* 5 different Top Fuel drivers. One head-to-head matchup in Round 1 of eliminations between #3 qualifier Doug Kalitta and #14 qualifier Brittany Force, and another possible head-to-head matchup in Round 2 of eliminations.
* 5 different Funny Car drivers but no Round 1 head-to-head matchups. There is a potential of 1 head-to-head matchup in Round 2 of eliminations.
* 6 different Pro Stock drivers. No Round 1 head-to-head matchups, but a possibility of 2 head-to-head matchup in Round 2 of eliminations.
* 4 different Pro Stock Motorcycle riders. No Round 1 head-to-head matchups, but a possibility of 1 head-to-head matchup in Round 2 of eliminations.

good picks super-bee_ski

but mine will be the race winners...LOL

This has sure been the year for crazy elimination results. The very best any player did this week in Top Fuel was to have their pick go one round of eliminations! That's nuts.

Congratulations to 'super-bee_ski' (FBBO) for being the top point getter for the Toyota Nationals at Las Vegas with a very nice score of 123.0 points. He picked the class winner in Pro Stock Motorcycle, both his Funny Car and Pro Stock picks won two rounds of eliminations before losing in the third round, and his Top Fuel pick lost in the opening round of eliminations. His picks also earned him a combination of ET and Speed bonus points that totaled up to 15.
Congrats also to '6pk2goDemon' (FABO), 'Budnicks' (FBBO) and 'Duster79' (FABO) for being the runners-up this week with 122.5 points each. They all picked the class winner in Pro Stock Motorcycle, their Funny Car pick went three rounds of eliminations but lost in the final round, and their Pro Stock pick went two rounds of eliminations before losing in the semi-final. Their Top Fuel pick also lost in the opening round of eliminations. Their picks only earned a total of 5 bonus points for ET and Speed.
Good picking all!

Here's where the bonus points were earned if you picked the right drivers:
Top Fuel
E.T. - J.R. Todd, 3.732 during qualifying
Speed - Spencer Massey, 330.88 during the final round of eliminations

Advance Announcement About ...

MYDRS_250.jpg

... the 2015 FABO/FBBO NHRA "Pick 'Em" game

NHRA announced the expansion of the Top Fuel Harley class to more events in 2015 and that it will run at four (4) National events.

So what does that mean for our 2015 NHRA "Pick 'Em" game? It means that you're going to have the opportunity to earn more points by picking the winner of an additional class, Top Fuel Harley, at the following events:
* The season-opening Winternationals, Feb. 5-8, in Pomona
* The SummitRacing.com Nationals, Apr. 10-12, in Las Vegas
* The Kansas Nationals, May 22-24, in Topeka
* The Thunder Valley Nationals, June 19-21, in Bristol

More points! More fun! I don't know yet if this class will be included on the television coverage of each event, but I sure hope they do.

Here's your last Tuesday-before-the-event reminder before the final event of the 2014 season, the upcoming Auto Club NHRA Finals at historic Pomona, CA.
Remember, no more last minute reminders during the Countdown.
As always, your picks need to be posted before Pro Qualifying starts on Friday, November 14, in order to qualify for all event bonus points. Finals qualifying is scheduled to start at 2:45PM EDT (11:45AM PDT).
The current forecast is for beautiful SoCal weather with high temps of 73F on Friday, 76F on Saturday and 78F on Sunday and no forecast of any rain.
The NHRA Finals entry list is posted on http://www.nhra.com/events/entrylist24.aspx and currently shows 21 Top Fuel, 22 Funny Car, 17 Pro Stock and 24 Pro Stock Motorcycle entries, but the counts are still subject to change. Keep checking http://www.nhra.com/events/entrylist24.aspx for an updated entry list to make sure your chosen driver is entered.
Get your picks posted EARLY, especially if you might forget at the last minute, and GOOD LUCK!
I'm going to be there all day Friday to watch the first two rounds of qualifying and get my "nitro fix" to hold me over the Holidays until the opening event of the 2015 NHRA season next February.

Dear Allen, Jeg, V and Matt,
Sorry I had to pick someone other than a Mopar driver this week. I just feel you haven't been performing up to your full potential lately. To keep my own vision of a points championship alive I had to make a pick out of my comfort zone.
I hope you all understand. In 2015 we'll all get together again to win races and bring a championship home for Mopar and Reed!

Sincerely
Reed aka GPULLER

P.S. I pick Jason Line cause he's a Minnesota native.
