Fox TV coverage:
Qualifying: Feb. 27 10PM-midnight EST (7-9PM PST) on FS1 (Fox Sports 1)
Live Finals: Feb. 28 5-8PM EST (2-5PM PST) on FS1
You won't miss any Oscars coverage since the race will be over before the Oscars programming starts.

Jim, since you're a new player and also since you're sticking with your picks from the Winternationals since qualifying already started I won't penalize you for late picks - this time only.
Please review the game rules.
From now on we'll be adhering strictly to the established rules. During the "regular" season, if a player does not have "locked" picks and did not posted new picks for the event, their picks from the prior event are "carried over" to the current event. But "carried over" picks are not eligible for any event bonus points including qualifying, low e.t., top speed, or new national records.
The only points that "carried over" picks can earn are round win points.

Congrats to Gpuller (FBBO) and Budnicks (FBBO) for sharing Top Qualifier title of the 2016 CARQUEST Auto Parts Nationals, both with an outstanding total of 23.0 bonus points. Gpuller's picks qualified #1 in both Top Fuel and Funny Car, and #3 in Pro Stock. Budnicks' picks qualified #2 in Top Fuel, #1 in Funny Car, and #2 in Pro Stock. Way to go!

We have 17 players for the 2nd event of the 2016 NHRA "Pick 'Em game season and 16 different driver combos made up of:
* 6 different Top Fuel drivers with one Round 1 head-to-head matchup between #5 qualifier Brittany Force (3 picks) and #12 qualifier Shawn Langdon (1 pick). There could be one head-to-head matchup in the 2nd round of eliminations if they all survive the opening round.
* 7 different Funny Car drivers and, again, one Round 1 head-to-head matchup. This time between #7 qualifier Tommy Johnson Jr. (1 pick) and #10 qualifier Matt Hagan (4 picks). There are also 2 potential head-to-head matchups in Round 2 of eliminations.
* 5 different Pro Stock drivers picked this week and they're all in the bottom half of the bracket. One Round 1 head-to-head matchup between #6 qualifier Drew Skillman (1 pick) and #9 qualifier Erica Enders-Stevens (4 picks). Also a possibility of two head-to-head matchups in the 2nd round of eliminations.

Here are the results and point standings following completion of the CARQUEST Nationals, the 2nd event of the 2016 NHRA season.
Having all of the Pro Stock picks in just half of the bracket knocked out some of the players early. And having all of DSR nitro cars out after the 2nd round of eliminations also had a big impact on points this week.
Congratulations to 'ocdart' (FABO) for surviving enough to be the "Top Picker Eliminator" for the CARQUEST Nationals with a very nice point total of 101.5 points with a class win in Pro Stock. His Top Fuel pick went to the semi-finals but lost there, and his Funny Car pick went one round of eliminations. He was helped by event bonus points for bot ET and Speed in Top Fuel.
'johnnycuda' (FABO) was right behind with 100.0 points. Both his Top Fuel and Funny Car picks went to their class finals before losing, and his Pro Stock pick lost in the semi-finals.
'Gpuller' was the top FBBO picker with 83.0 points.

As always, your picks need to be posted before Pro Qualifying starts on Friday, March 18 in order to qualify for all event bonus points. Pro qualifying is scheduled to start at 12:45PM EST (9:45AM PST).
The Gatornationals entry list is posted on NHRA.com and currently shows 15 Top Fuel, 15 Funny Car, 16 Pro Stock and 22 Pro Stock Motorcycle entries, but the counts are subject to change. Keep checking http://www.nhra.com/events/entrylist03.aspx for an updated entry list.

then I don't pick the guy & then he wins, the jerk...LOL

Seems when I pick him, he sucks,
