Here's your Tuesday before the event reminder to post your picks for the 2022 Dodge Power Brokers NHRA Mile-High Nationals, the first race of the Western Swing and the first of three consecutive weekends of racing.
Pro qualifying starts Friday, July 15, at 5:30PM EDT (2:30PM PDT)!

Unfortunately, it appears that current high fuel costs are impacting the number of professional class entries.
The nhra.com website currently shows the following number of entries:
17 Top Fuel
14 Funny Car
15 Pro Stock
13 Pro Stock Motorcycle

Always check to confirm your picks are participating. You may also possibly find either new drivers or old favorites competing.

Post your picks if you haven't already.

FYI, on Wednesday NHRA announced a schedule change for the first four races of the 2023 Camping World season.
The 2023 season will open with the Gatornationals in Florida.
The first four races of the 2023 season are:

* March 9-12 Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals
* March 24-26 NHRA Arizona Nationals
* March 30-April 2 Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals
* April 14-16 NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at The Strip in Las Vegas

NHRA says this is not a permanent change to the traditional schedule, but is meant "to provide more efficient routing and travel plans for the race teams."

I always thought going all the way across the country to Gainesville
2nd or third race in many cases, depending on what year/s
(many prior to Vegas even being there)
after a couple of races out west, was sort of stupid
especially when a huge amount of teams were from Calif. org.
not based in INDY like today
just to have to drive all the way back to the middle
Texas in Dallas, Houston
or the western states/coast, Pheonix, later years Las Vegas etc.,
especially in the beginning of the season

IMO Westcoast swings Pomona, Bakersfield/Famosa March Meet (test),
Sonoma, Kent Wa. ect.
that should be the start of the NHRA Season
then Vegas , no more Pheonix anymore now,
maybe go to Morrison Co/Denver after that, if it's warm enough, no snow
then go to
Texas a couple of tracks Houston & Dallas,
then Kansas/Topeka, etc.
& then start to go east, south Atlanta, Gainesville
(add Palm Beach to Test)
& then up the coast/toward NE,
East Coast swing, Concord/NC Richmond Englishtown Redding etc.
then to the midwest swing, Chicago Brainard Norwalk etc.
down to INDY/US Nats, finish up on the west coast, Vegas & Pomona
I know I didn't list them all either...
it's just for reference's sake
(I'd like to have seen Bakersfield/Famosa or Palm Beach in the mix too,
not just a test --- we need another Arizona track now too
)
then we wouldn't have had to make so damn many trips
back & forth
(I know it cost me huge $$$, wear & tear & my time, time away from work,
or traveling several thousands of miles, in each direction
)
IMO it would have made far more sense
I'd of done a lot more "points" races back east & in the midwest
& I'd just stayed out there, for the duration & had my parts shipped to the tracks
before coming back west
or maybe leave my stuff in someone's shop/I trust & fly back
if I had to be at work, which I usually did

I know a lot of it was traditional "dates" too
it had nothing to do with miles driven or weather,
which you'd think would be logical scheduling for races
stay west for the winter months (Florida is rainy as **** still)
stay where the weather is nice 90%, not rain delayed or flooded
all the damn time too

thanks @ocdart for sharing that

We got into Littleton Colorado last knight about 8:00 pm and we drove right by the mile high qualifying off of I 70. Wish we could of went today but had other plans with my daughter. Place was packed last night.

Does your daughter live in Littleton, alsant?

Cannot plan a national event in Kent Wa in the spring, rains too much. They had to cancel the dovision race in June this year. August or early September is best time of year for racing there. But it does rain once every few years.

One year they started national event first round of sportsman classes Sunday night. Wouldn’t give a rain check or credit for another event either. Tough on a guy who has to be to work Monday morning after taking off thurs and Friday.

Erica, Hagen, Steve and Brittany didn’t do good this week.

glad Leah won finally.

Yeah ha
I had 3 in the finals, 2 winners F/C & P/SM & a runner up P/S,
& T/F Steve Torrence going out 1st rd, smoking the tires :BangHead:

Housing is crazy here in Littleton right now 700000. For 1800 sq ft house built in the 80s. But it’s nice here. The I 70 corridor is real nice.

Sorry for the delay in posting Mile-High Nationals results. The nhra.com website showed an incorrect Funny Car ladder but I found the correct results elsewhere yesterday. I should be able to post the results later after work tonight.

Here's your Tuesday before the event reminder to post your picks for the 2022 Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals, the middle race of the Western Swing and the second of three consecutive weekends of racing.
Here we go, a bit over 1200 miles west and just over a mile down to the almost sea-level altitude at Sonoma. The air is going to be a LOT better than on the mountain!
The first of three Pro qualifying sessions starts Friday, July 22, at 9:30PM EDT (6:30PM PDT).

Unfortunately, Friday qualifying won't be on TV (FS1) until Saturday at 10:30AM EDT (7:30AM PDT).
Saturday qualifying won't be on TV (FS1) until Sunday at 1:30PM EDT (10:30AM PDT).

Final eliminations will be televised Sunday on FOX at 4:00PM EDT (1:00PM PDT). FOX will be going head-to-head with the NASCAR television coverage starting at Noon on USA.

Unfortunately, it appears that current high fuel costs continue to impact the number of professional class entries but the numbers are slightly better this week.
The nhra.com website currently shows the following number of entries:
17 Top Fuel
16 Funny Car
16 Pro Stock
14 Pro Stock Motorcycle

Always check to confirm your picks are participating. You may also possibly find either new drivers or old favorites competing.
